Well there was some great banter between the pair of them tonight but I don't know the history as such apart from Sharongate. But their threatening Johnny Allen was laughable. I really enoyed it though.

Yes, I have to admit that I liked them tonight. I usually cannot stand them as they are bullies, but I do like the comical banter between them, and if they keep that up, they may do ok instead of being bullies.
Mind you they made Johnny Allen to be an Angel when he first came in, so the viewers would accept him more, but look at the way he has turned out.

The stuff about them 10 years ago catching those kids and stuff was really good writing. I can't wait for tomorrow's.

They have been far, far better than I expected them to be. I agree that the writing on Tuesday night was good. A bit of a let down tonight. I thought there would be a big confrontation between the "Bruvvers" and Sharon in the Vic, but it seems they have to drag it out. Instead it will be happening tomorrow night.
I wonder, when Grant returns next year, if his wife and children will be with him?
Also, on another note, how on earth did Phil get off? Implausible or what? I agree with Pauline on this matter.

Yes, I would imagine next time they will bring Grants family with him, after all they cannot do much else can they?
As for Phil's letting off from prosin, apparently Grant 'got' to the security guard - typical Mitchell.

We never even got to see that after Sharon turned up on the doorstep. Just jumped to the next day instead. It did drag yesterday.

All Phil and Grant do is cause trouble - they rarely have any other function.
And where are they staying? At Pat's - with her, Peggy AND Billy already there?

Would you like to see them return on a permanant basis?

Grant maybe, but not Phil. With his family Grant would have a new dimension wouldn't he? Phil is back on a permenant basis now isn't he, while Grant is just around for three/four weeks worth of episodes. I wish Phil would go back to prison, because if Grant returns with his wife then what are the chances that Phil will end up having an affair with her? Ross Kemp can only return for around six months if he does return because he has other "projects", as they saw, on the go. He's directing and starring in a drama pilot for BBC1. So maybe if he is only in it for six months next year, then they won't bother introducing his wife. They can just say that he and his wife have got a quickie divorce and she got custody of the kids. That would be a far more plausible explanation than the only witness in the case against Phil being beat up - despite the fact that there must have been loads of witnesses since he was caught by at least 20 police!

I saw a thread on this somewhere else, and thought I'd bring it up here and see what you all think:
Anyone remember Mark Fowler - the Lost Mitchell? If that secret were to come out sometime next year, I think it would provide us with some brilliant episodes - especially if all the characters could be present who would be needed:
Grant, Michelle, Phil, Peggy, Pauline, Vicky, Sharon and Martin.
I think it would renew the Mitchell/Fowler feud big time. And the whole Den murder storyline has involved at least ten characters (Den, Chrissie, Sharon, Dennis, Jake, Zoe, Kat, Stacey, Sam, Peggy, Grant and Phil have all had large parts to play), so this would be nearly as complicated as that!

Would you like to see them return on a permanant basis? Patsy The Mitchells are welcome to a small/ medium portion of the programme, but that's all. When they were in it last time they totally dominated the whole programme, and it was like watching a crime drama rather than a soap about a diverse community which is what most people want to see - not The Mitchell Show.

Like The Slater Show as it was later dubbed, Pearly.
Well the paper got it wrong again and it's only 3 months for Grant next year. I wonder though if they will have it dominate as you pointed out they did last time? I remember all those comments on Ceefax when it was announced they'd be returning. Very mixed. But more seem to be against the return of Frank Butcher than the whole Mitchell clan.

I think Phil told him last week. Interesting chemistry between Grant and Sharon. No wonder Dennis is so jealous. But what will he do with Johnny to get back at the Mitchells's I wonder? I wish it was on today!!!

Hi there diaduit73 and welcome. Congratulations on making your first post! Phil told Grant about himself and Sharon in one of the episodes last week. Grant actually took it quite well! I actually missed Thursday and Friday's episodes and I am looking forward to catching up with the omnibus, ahead of this weeks episodes. This week should be brilliant, up until Thursday anyway. On Friday we have Alfie and Nana in France as Alfie faces up to Nana's impending death. There is also a two minute silence and flashbacks during the episode. It sounds good, but I'm doubtful about how good Shane Richie will be. Anyway, I'm shocked at your new love of EE Patsy. Do you think you will stick with it now or not?

Did you enjoy the omnibus, Eithne?
LOL! Not as much as I am. I'm having it taped when I'm away this weekend as well! I might actually stick with it. I'll see how it goes once this storyline is over. There's bound to be some fallout next week but then I expect it will dry up. Who knows? I may be looking forward to Christmas Day's ep even though it's Nana's death! LOL!

Completely forgot about the omnibus Patsy! Doesn't really matter too much though. Last night's episode was sensational! It was fast moving, exciting and full of twists and turns. It also had one of the best EE scenes of the year, with Chrissie turning around and then coming face to face with Sharon. The look on her face was brilliant, as was Sharon's right hook. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow night's episode as well, although it is off to France on Friday!

Though i'm sure 10 years ago the pasting to Johnny in his office would've been 10X worse, especially by grant. But i like the way he [Grant] has grown and changed, i aslo like his chemistry with Sharon. I'd be happy to have grant back full time, but not Phil, not togther as brothers, possibly.

It's Grant's last ep tonight, isn't it? Phil's still there next week.
I have enjoyed these eps a lot. I was wishing it was on last night. LOL!

Maybe he'll be back visiting his faarrrmmly? Nice to see Sam, Peggy, Phil and Grant all together for a couple of minutes tonight. It must have been 10 years or more since that last happened! Such a close family eh! A really good episode tonight. I wish Alfie would tell somebody about Nana's illness though! This whole "I'm Alfie Moon and I bottle up all my problems" thing is just plain annoying. Why wouldn't he tell Jake, Danny and Spencer since Nana is their grandmother as well (well he's Spencer's anyway, not sure about the other two) I loved the way all the loose ends were tied up tonight, though I think it is unfair on Ian & Jane. He was done out of a lot of money! The Mitchell's are bullies and it is slightly annoying to see them win yet again. On another point: Where will Sharon and Dennis live when they return from their honeymoon, now that Phil and Peggy are back in the Sqaure? By the way: Going to miss Chrissie! ;( Brilliant character, brilliant actress!

I though last night was great, but you know what? It soo felyt like a friday episode! As you say everything was tied up, the mitchells, chrisie, sharon, sam, the Vic. really good episode last night. And yes i thought he should've told jake and not just avoided in his usual alfie way. I was a huge Chrissie fan as it was (well until the whole den death storyline) very natural feeling - the acting by Tracy-Anne. In a way i feel Chrssie felt less real with the whole den saga and spoilt the character a bit, and it felt like acting where as it didn't before, but that's just me. I still think Tracy Ann Oberman has been great though.

I know it really did feel like a Friday episode last night, didn't it? Chrissie was a brilliant character, and will always go down as one of EE's best bitches! Looking forward to seeing Tracey-Ann in Doctor Who next year.
