Guilty folk in t'village

me and t'other half were discussing Emmerdale today..we both feel there are too many 'baddies' getting away with far too much...EG:

Cain:Continually threatens and attacks people..even throwing Len Reynolds over the landing of Holdgate farm.

Zoe: Shoots half brother Liam,attempts to kill Scott,and blows up Home farm,which wasn't hers and could have resulted in someones injury or death

Andy:Kills his mother,burns down the barn,shoots Jack,partly responsible for Max's death.

Steph:Kidnaps and eventually kills Shelley,tries to poison and kill her dad,Alan.

Eric:Murders his wife Elizabeth,tries to cheat Alan out of the pub when he was vunerable,plans a robbery at a stately home.

Robert:plots the downfall of his brother,burns down his barn,is a party to him being beaten up.Crashes a car and tries to put the blame on Elaine Marsden

and I'm sure there are many others I have temporarily forgotten..it is as if the writers/producers come up with these storylines and as they get near the end of the plot..they realise their characters would really have to go to prison..so they invent someway of getting them 'off the hook' so they don't lose the actors.

the only people to be dealt the hand of justice are Scott (Only because Ben Freeman wanted some time off) and Nick Bates (only because Cy Chadwick wanted to leave)

the producers have to show some sense of morality..and justice.Not a village full of murderers,thugs,thieves etc...

You rarely get that in Corrie..people usually get their comeuppance..(Alan Bradley,Jez Quigley,Steve McDonald (When he went to prison for handling stolen goods))..

Lets hope Kathleen Beedles will restore a sense of reality....and from what I have seen in the alst few weeks it is showing signs of promise..fingers crossed

Louise: killed Ray and got away with it with the help of Charity and Terry.

Soaps are all the same and do set bad examples these days.

Emmerdale does have a very bad record for characters getting away with things. I read a thread on Andy's crimes and they also included underage sex (with Debbie and Katie as well I think) among other things. It does get a bit ridicolus at times.

When Emily Syomns leaves I'd hope that they would write her out by having the truth come out about Ray, and maybe some of Andy's crimes could come out as well when he departs the Dales. Be better than Rob's exit anyway.

I think Andy needs some sort of punishment for his crimes. He gets away with far too much

I can't believe how much crime and trouble Andy has caused over the years. Hopefully when Louise leaves the whole her killing Ray thing will come out. That would be exciting.

Just remembered the guy that killed Rachael and tried to kill Kathy was found out wasn't he, right before he died?

Maybe Andy and Louise will leave together after teaming up for a life of crime like Bonnie and her toyboy Clyde.

It really is surprising Jack especially wants anything to do with Andy after killing his wife and shooting him! Like all soaps, they expect us to suspend believe far too often. They all think we're far too stupid to remember these things have happened.

You have a point - but I think Jack forgives him as both were accidents. He burnt down the barn for the insurance money and he meant to shoot Robert not Jack (though I would have thought the latter one especially was a little off really even if he had nicked his wife). Robert has always been malicious in all the trouble whereas Andy hasn't really meant to be.

She could if they have a major fall out. However im not sure she would as she isnt like that

You're right, Mandy. Also Andy has also been more interested in the same things as Jack than Robert has. I am puzzled though as to why he doesn't really understand Robert's hatred of farming when he was the same until he changed his head 25 years ago.
