I'm not either. He's a twat. But he was good at this imo. And he got up the noses of those making it for his comments so can't be all bad. LOL!

There's some serious miming going on. That Swedish woman was more like a bloke with the deep voice. Surely if she could hit those high operatic notes, she wouldn't have been so deep normally. Graham Norton is a disappointment, but then Terry is a hard act to follow. He makes the odd remark but there's so much scope for a few jibes he just ignores. He also likes practically all the songs. Talk about not rocking the boat. Speaking of boats (or ships), why did they include Norwegian Gem under Malta's postcard? To do with tourism? Patsy

Just read this on the Port of Valletta site:
Eurovision Live on Big Screens
News Release
8 May 2009
We, Maltese, may not all be in Moscow to support Chiara at the Eurovision, but we can all be at the Valletta Waterfront on Tuesday 12th and Saturday 16th next week, where both the Eurovision Preliminary and the Eurovision Finals will be transmitted on two big screens.
"As Maltese, the majestic setting of the Valletta Waterfront lends itself extremely well as the venue where, this Tuesday, we can support Chiara and look forward to her qualification for the Eurovision finals," said Joshua Giordimaina, Marketing Executive at VISET Malta plc, operators of the Valletta Waterfront.
Whether it is for a cup of coffee and cake or different cuisines from around the world, here everyone can find the preferred combination of choices that will ensure that these will be two long remembered nights at the Valletta Waterfront.
"We are really looking forward to provide the ideal venue where we Maltese can truly celebrate the success we wish for Chaira and our country at the Eurovision," said Mr Giordimaina.

At last more fair voting...I am very happy with 5th..a fair result..and I am glad France did well they had a good song.
There was still a touch of biased voting....Croatia & Bosnia...Cyprus & Greece..but that has always happened...much much better

I noticed that but yes, it was fairer. What do you think of Graham Norton? I'm hoping for Terry back next year or at least someone funny who doesn't like nearly everything!

Enjoyed the whole thing...except the result.
Fantastic show; possibly the best ever.
Graham Norton good, but not outrageous enough.
Can't understand why the Norwegian entry won; thought it was abysmal - was it really just the 'cute' factor?
My favourites were Iceland, Malta, and Estonia.
Jade gave a great performance, but TBH I never thought the song itself was a winner.
Overall, a great night's entertainment.

I was discussing this with my friend Robin last night, who phoned just as the lines opened and wasn't watching. He agreed with me Terry has set a certain expectation. I was watching those acts last night and making remarks like coven of witches and other things. Norton only made a fat joke. He was out of his depth and was such a suck up. Quite a few were disappointed in him, especially when we know what he's capable of. It was the best show in ages though.
Must have been. But many had gimmicks (the number of men I thought would rip their shirts off!), and were pretty boys and girls. There were better songs, I agree.

Well here we go again..
tonights EUROVISION:YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU was abysmal...the best act won (and he wasn't very good)..the song is bland with no hooks (Called That Sounds Good To Me)..typical 90's churned out pop a la Steps
If we win this year it will be hat eating time (again)

I have read that Pete Waterman and Mike Stock are having to revamp our entry because of complaints saying it was dull and uninspiring!!
just what I said

Mick Stock was up in winding up court a few weeks ago, around the same time as Portsmouth FC. Think it was Mike Stock Music. Unless it's a different Mike Stock.

Well we'll be watching - don't care if UK do well or not - it's just the fun of having a few hours of pure entertainment, ranging from the (occasionally) very good to the absurd and/or hilarious.
...and I think GN makes the perfect commentator - perfect vehicle for him, and I never could stand TW.
(There, I've said it, and I feel soooooooo much better! ;D)
Can't you just tell I'm looking forward to an extra long weekend? (Already done most of my weekend chores, Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, walk on the beach first thing on Sunday followed by breakfast at Jazzy's, Grand Prix in the afternoon, and STILL got a free day on Monday! WOOHOO!)

UK deserved to be last - the tune was abysmal - Pete Waterman obviously well past his sell-by date then!
I thought the standard was generally pretty good. Nothing stand-out brilliant, but we had a list of eight potential winners, and four of them ended up in the top 6.
Graham did a good job IMO - one or two wicked comments - could have been just a bit more outrageous, but I guess he got it about right.

I agree the garbage that Pete Waterman came up with sounded like something even Steps would have turned down..and lets face it they'd have a bash at anything
