It seems like both Emma Atkins and Nicola Wheeler both gave birth to boys last month. Congratulations to both of them.

From DSLong-serving Emmerdale star Paula Tilbrook has announced her retirement. The popular actress has already filmed her final scenes as village gossip Betty Eagleton, which will air on the ITV soap in mid-May. Show bosses haven't revealed the exact details of her exit storyline but are promising a fitting send-off for Betty. Speaking after filming her final episode, Tilbrook commented: "I have been at Emmerdale for 21 years and I've loved every moment. Today is both the saddest and the happiest day of my life. Happy because I've got everyone here with me, but the sad part is I'm leaving. But there is a great atmosphere and it is nice to go out on a high." I will miss Betty, but I think it's better for an actor to leave on a high note rather than wither away and just then disappear. Happy retirement Paula.

The trouble is with Corrie (Apart from some exceptions, usually the 'oldies') they take very good characters and totally wreck them. Then the new characters they bring in you wouldn't put out if they were on fire. I won't give up though...I'll persevere

From DS Coronation Street bosses have finalised plans to provide Anne Kirkbride's iconic character Deirdre Barlow with a fitting send-off later this year.
She passed away in a Manchester hospital in January following a short illness.
The soap's bosses have been consulting with Kirkbride's family as they planned a suitable farewell for the character, who was first introduced on the show in 1972.
Coronation Street has now confirmed that the storyline had been decided, telling the Sunday Mirror: "We have finalised details for a plot explaining Deirdre's departure, which will be screened in the summer."
Speaking to Digital Spy last month, Coronation Street's executive producer Kieran Roberts commented: "We absolutely will say farewell to Deirdre in the show.
"Anne's death was a huge tragedy and everybody who worked with her just loved her to bits - she was a very special woman. What's really important is that the first thing we have to do is respect Anne and her family.
"We're talking to her family about lots of things and when we feel we've done that, we will be planning to say farewell to the character of Deirdre as well. I'm sure we will do justice to that amazing, iconic character later in the year."
It would be nice if they had a beautiful funeral ceremony with no drama and kept the episode to that and nothing else.

As it's up against something as strong as 'Vera' I'm not surprised it dropped viewers.

I watched this, more to do with curiosity than anything else. I loved the original and while I think this was very clever, I loved the jerky stringy Thunderbirds. Great to see the original Parker (I thought Lady Penelope was terrible though) I am still confused at a foreign sounding 'Brains" but I thought the action stuff very good and it was nice to see a lot of it looking the same...moveable swimming pool etc. Don't know what Gerry Anderson would make of it though.

A couple of good episodes. Poor little Faye, thats the rest of her life sorted out then...teenage mum (although I expect it will be Anna looking after it) I have a feeling it will be this that drives Owen out, although I thought the body language between him and Anna said it all. The young actress did a good job (Far better than I thought she would) I'd like to see Carla and Nick together (Apart from the fact they have a lot in common) I think they would work well. I thought Sarah would get involved with Callum..Her character is a lot stronger than Katie or Kylie's so it will be interesting to see how that pans out. Why in heavens name is Tony with Liz. He and Toxic are much better suited. Sally made me laugh, she is so superior to everyone else yet she always ends up being laughed at. I love Tim though

What lows will Laurel stoop to next. Using April (and Daniel) to cover up what she has done. It looks like Rhona (Nice to see the new little Leo BTW) might catch on, as an ex addict she can recognise the signs. No way should she be on her own with those children (not that I think she cares too much over April) Hopefull alarm bells may ring a bit with Ashley. I just think it will get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
I like the Rishi SL, nice to have a bit of comic relief and I wouldn't mind if they reunited them.

Could Laurel sink much lower. I have a feeling this SL will last for quite a bit longer.

I have heard nothing but good about this. We never watched the series at the time it was on Sky, but I will definitely give it a go now (Everyone I have spoken to about it gives it glowing reports)...and it certainly sounds different.

I have to admit I haven't watched this version of Poldark. I was dithering as to watch it or not, but having being a big fan of the original I decided not to so I can't really pass an opinion on it. I am glad to read your various views on it. I was surprised to see how short Aidan Turner was and can't get my head around an Irishman playing a Cornishman.

I think it was a double 'headshave' Wendy. Part of the storyline with the added benefit of raising money for a good cause. (The Australian Childhood Foundation.) Absolutely loved the 30th Anniversary episode, it brought back a lot of memories.
