Presumably we're meant to deduce that Lloyd has been around the street as usual - just not any time when there's been a camera there. Must admit I did a double take when he popped up in the cab office without so much as a "where the bloody hell have you been for 3 months?" from Steve M.

Maybe he'd just had a very long taxi run...to Sydney, or Cape Town, or maybe he's been working a lot of nightshifts?

(Actually I thought that the way it panned out was the best possible way to get him back into the show, and I thought it worked very well.)

Question tho':- how were things between LLoyd and Kelly, before he became invisible? I thought they'd split up, then got back together again, or am I imagining that?

Due to the circumstances of his break from the show it was all they could do really. I think it worked out fine.

They can't be bothered writing exit storylines for characters all over the place when the actors are 'indisposed.'
The Duckies are hardly ever in it these days due to Liz and Bill being old and weak.
Or the actor is on holiday eg we haven't seen Ashley for ages, he's just quietly selling meat without a fuss, while the actor probably has a rest.
