I agree with Norris...Rita always undermines him...and as he says,,how are kids supposed to learn to respect their elders if Rita never shows him any respect in front of them

Reet explicitly recommended hitting Norris over the head - how cruel, since while he was at the mercy of the robbers she was getting pissed in the pub rolling around in sawdust showing her knickers. Well, having a drink with Emily - just as exciting.
No need for Norris to lay into Gail, although he did have a point. I feel she will cheer up when she gets to know Tina's dad better - there was a definite knowing smile between them.
Claire used to be docile, drippy and morally superior. The recent house swap/sale stuff has turned her into a right nasty cow. All she cares about is moving house - never mind offending anyone or the possible serious threat of yobs terrorising everyone. Julia Hawarth looks about 10 months gone by now - they'll have to write her out soon, she's enormous.

LOL! They're like George and Mildred without the writing and we know Mildred had no respect whatsoever for George.

Well, having a drink with Emily - just as exciting. Reet doesn't wear knickers! She wears windsocks! That's because she does it on a daily basis. Only thrill she gets when the voddy bottle's not cracked open or someone else buys the booze. Patsy

2 excellent episodes tonight, it was good to see the older characters having so many scenes and the main storyline for once.
The house swap storyline and the stuff with Deirdre/Blanche/Ken/Roger was also really good.

If I was Sally I would tell Claire to stick her house where the sun doesn't shine toot suite...
does anyone know if Claire is being written out or is she going to be mentioned but never seen?
How I agree with Norris..and look forward to when the pendulum swings back again

I just watched ep 1 and it was brilliant. I forgot to see who wrote it, but whoever it was had it spot on. This is the Corrie I know and love. 10/10 LOL at Blanche when she was vexed because Deidre told her to hurry up.... ""you can`t rush ablutions at my age....ask Ken" LOL!!! ;D

My mum never showed my dad respect and still doesn't. I haven't turned into a violent thug. It's the bleeding heart brigade a la Ken Barlow of the 60s. They were more spot on when Ade Critchley baited him and he basically got away with it. These days you can't do a damn thing because of this, that or the other. A couple of people in a shop you see a few mins a day bickering are hardly going to turn you into knife carrying hoodies. Respect, manners and decency begin with the parents at a young age. If that's missing there's no hope.

LOL! Since that old interferring battleaxe Mary Whitehouse is currently topical due to tomorrow's drama I was reading a piece in the paper which said she foresaw violence on TV leading to increased violence on the streets. She was right but also the fact we can't belt the buggers isn't helping. Soaps are the most popular programmes but they set bad examples. Look at how David got away with things for so long. Kids see that and think they'll go out and do the same with no consequences just as much as they'll sleep around because they see the only result being accidental pregnancy rather than an STD. TV needs to be as responsible as the parents otherwise we're doomed. Anyway, as Norris is an annoying little twerp, he desrves to be undermined. Only what he did to Dirk. Patsy

What Norris went through last night I wouldn`t wish it on my worst enemy. But Norris didn`t have to be so ungracious about it when the neighbours were showing concern. He was in shock I understand that, but couldn`t he see the neighbours were in shock themselves and were only trying to help 'one of their own'. The community feel last night was just like the Corrie of old and that`s what I loved most about it. The scene where Roy apologised to Norris and blaming himself for sending those yobs was beautifully done.

Martin Sterling wrote the first episode last night CG, and Peter Whalley wrote the 2nd. 2 excellent episodes, Corrie at its best.
I agree there was a real community feel to last nights eps.

A double episode - yay, a nice surprise.
Poor Jerry - I hope Kayleigh does the right thing and drops Kenzie in it with the cops. Chesney looks so grown up now, he's not the little cute kid he once was.
Nice detail about Jessica Sykes, Kirk's first love, being the Lotto winner in Burnage.

A cracking hour long epside tonight with a lovely warm community feeling of old..
even though poor Jerry was having a heart attack I had to chuckle when Daryll told his dad 'Try to Have a big trump it might make you feel better'
I never thought i would hear the word trump on Corrie ..i'm still tickled now ;D ;D
I thought the lad who played Daryll was very good tonight..he had a sort of desperation in his voice..first chance he has had to do any real acting really

An excellent episode tonight and it was a good hour of entertainment with a mix of drama and comedy.
Also noticed the references to various Manchester venues such as the science museum and the Arndale centre?
