Well hot from the cyber mouth of the person who went to the recording and gave me the Upstairs Downstairs gen, I now have the Corrie! It was two parts. The first was very brief and had five cast members representing each decade of Corrie. Barbara Knox for the 60s, Helen Worth for the 70s, Michael Le Vell for the 80s, Jimmi Harkishin for the 90s and Sam Aston for present. They each spoke about joining the show and some of them talked about what their character had been through. Thing is though Barbara was in just ONE episode in the 60s so hardly representative. And where was Bill Roache? This bit will not go down well because of more AC overkill. It was film Sean and Michelle at the Rovers with many characters from yesteryear. Patsy

Me neither. She's trying to kill off all her fans with these shocks. LOL!
Like the Upstairs Downstairs bit, this isn't how the publicity said it would be. Where's the 5 decade cast reunion?

I agree with what you say about the 60s - she was in 1 ep so it would have been better for her to represent the 70s or 80s.

It would. Bill Roache should be 60s so where the hell is he?

No idea. He has done less than Barb in Corrie recently so maybe he is ill.

He's been writing his book and publicising it. Can't be that ill.

LOL! Well maybe they've got her on vitamin shots and she's feeling spry! LOL! I'm glad to see she's autographing. You know some idiot decided who would do what part of the show... maybe she's pissed off that they made her seem older by making her from the 60s. Bet someone got a vodka in the face... oh wait she wouldn't waste it like that... just the empty bottle!

PMSL! Maybe they should do something to her hand so she picks up a pen and replies to all those few letters she gets. Far too busy doing nothing and having facelifts. Patsy

Kevin never lodged with Stan! Stan was dead surely.
Barbara's script was wrong too. She didn't join the cast in 1964. One eps does not constitute joining.

LOL! I was thinking that about Stan!
Great to see Barbara though!

Kevin would have been in the series before Stan died, but he didn't lodge at number 13 till well after Stan died
and you're right...one episode does not constitute joining the cast
still it was good to see Barbara out and about
I didn't think enought time was spent with it tho or the Upstairs downsatirs reunion
Mind you the black and white clip they put together was good

Yeah. The Webster's moved into number 11 and after Bill, Debbie and Elaine moved to Southampton THEN he lodged with Hilda.
Yeah and doing better with her claptrap than Meg Wynn Owen. LOL!

Yep. She has that Henry bloke as a lodger after Stan's death, then Kevin.
The outfit she wore looked like the same one as the soapies from 2004.

I like Meg Wynn Owen..Hazel was my favourite character in Up Down

She also had Terry Duckworth before Kevin. Wasn't it Terry who recommended Hilda and Kevin was none too keen at first?
Oh dear. How cheap is she not to buy a bran new sparkly tent for the occasion? Not every day she graces the telly with her presence outside of Corrie.
Hazel irritated me. It was like they'd made a conscious decision, with that red hair, to replace Lady M (who I never liked either). Maybe if she'd been a brunette I'd have liked her better. LOL!

I like her because as meg said..she never quite fitted in..all the servants thought she had ideas above her station and all the toffs thought she wasn't good enough..I thought Meg played the role very very well and got it just right
I might write to her..i wonder if anyone knows an address??

Here you go Nick:
CURTIS BROWN GROUP LTD Haymarket House, 5th Floor, 28-29 Haymarket, London SW1Y 4SP
I agree she did play the part well. She certainly got the servants warming to her after dealing with Miss Roberts. The writing for Hazel was good too. I just never took to her. Didn't like a lot of the upstairs lot. LOL!

Meg Wynn Owen. I double-checked myself in case there was a hyphen. Those old caption cards are no help. LOL! Good luck with that. Hope you get a reply. Patsy

would rather of had Liz and Steve though

And most things did happen in the Rovers.
Steve and Liz would have been better. Or even someone else just observing. Not as if being behind the bar was really relevant to the montage.

I`d like to know why William Roache wasn`t there. He should have been the one doing the naration - not Barbara. Barbara hasn`t been there from the start. I just finished watching it - it was very good. Some of it though I fast forwarded...the crap with Miss Piggy and Sharon Osbourne for instance. So predicatable. And Michael Parkinson was just awful. He looked like he couldn`t wait for it to finish so he could have a sit down. Victoria Wood as always was brilliant. She hasn`t lost any of her edge....a flawless performance. The cast of Upstairs Downstairs weren`t on long enough for my liking. I would have liked at least another 10 minutes devoted to that show.
