It seems that since getting a new PC ( Which I thought was great ) my posts dont seem to stay posted.
I have just done a great load here, but they don't seem to show up, can anybody else see them. ?
It wont logout either, I'm beginning to wish I'd kept the old one.

I have this trouble someitmes when i post something and does actually pop up. Usually if i press F5 my post will then appear. Also sometimes I turn up as a guest and have to sign in again, even when i've signed up for forever! Now sure if that is to do with something here or my computer though.

Actually, its not so much the signing out as the inability to see what I have posted. I spent half the morning on the board and when I checked some things I had done, there was nothing there. When I looked first, what I'd written was there, but then it had gone, ( It only seems to happen on Proboards.) I bet this goes as well.

It's all there, Sooty. Your posts haven't vanished off the face of proboards I assure you. Patsy

Then why the devil can't I see them !! How can I answer any posts or talk about anything, if I cannot see what I have previously written. I have now noticed that the only way I can see my previous post, is when somone has replied to it. Also, I can only see it from the name of the thread in the right hand column. Is there a proboard help thing anywhere ??

Have you tried changing the skin, Sooty? Oh hang on, that's a stupid question if you can't see your name to click on your profile. There is a help board somewhere. I'll find it for you. Patsy

I have decide just to keep on posting, and hope for the best, the way I can see what I have posted is when someone replies. So I expect when I do this, I will suddenly see what I didn't before. ;D

You can change the skin if you click the profile button near the top of the page, and then click modify profile.
Cookies is the only thing I can think, as that was a problem I had when I was trying to register on UKTV. I wouldn't say that is the thing though.
Is it just this board, or is it the same on all of the proboards sooty?

I can answer the bottom one, Eithne. She mentioned on UK TV she's having trouble too so it could be a proboards thing or her new PC hates it.

I think it may have something to do with cookies, ( You would not believe the amount of people who I've baffled with this ) It does this on all proboards, but not on eg invision I have got my privacy thing now set as accept all cookies. Someone ( who knows proboards inside out ) thinks the PC could have some 3rd party software that is controlling it, or the settings are off. She did suggest re-installing IE, which for some reason has a Wanadoo logo on. I have actually just deleted all cookies, it got me to sign in again, now when I click on home, at least it stays on that, and doesn't go back to the Login page again. I shall now see how I get on today.

Finally, after days of being tempted to do this. we have it sorted ( fingers Xd ) We have un-installed everything and reinstalled it ( with the odd exceptions ) and so far so good. People seem to think that it may have been some Wanadoo soft ware ( that was on a free trial ) blocking something. Any way, I am back, its going to take ages to catch up.

I love that smilie, Sooty! Oh, how we ALL must feel like doing that most of the time. I spent over 5 mins before trying to get on because it said there was no dial tone. Then when there was, I got booted! Everything crossed it all works okay now. ;D

Haven't been around for a couple of days. It's being playing up again All I did was reinstall Word and Works. SIL to be said that XP is very sensitive, and clicked a few buttons, and said to keep logged in forever. Which is what I have done. So hopefully, it will be this now.

Evrything's crossed again, Sooty! ;D Xp is a pain, isn't it? I ended up accidentally deleting everything IE but accident a few months ago while trying to just delete some things I don't use. I was terrified of logging off because the changes would have taken place but thankfully there's that thing to put things back as they were on a certain date.

Hiya sooty..glad you got it sorted out. Touch wood it stays that way. Have you tried playing around with the cookies?...not chocolate chip ones unfortunatly lol Here`s what I do.... go to tools>>>>internet options>>>>>. Then click on the tab that says privacy. Move the slider buttom downtowards the bottom where it says 'accept all cookies" Click ok, and hopefully Bobs your uncle. After a very eventual 2 weeks, I`m back more on a more permanant basis too. ;D

At the moment it seems to be sorted. Its getting MacAfee put back in next week, lets hope that doesn't upset XP too much. CorrieGirl, tried the that cookie thing at the very beginning of all the hassle, it wasn't that.
