You both missed nothing. Turned into The Martha Show with her rotten family. I was so bored.

Was marginally more exciting than previous two weeks, but again, nothing special - I was thinking more of 'The Fly' myself, but it seemed to have influences from all over the place.
Personally, I think they should have left longer periods between one series and the next, otherwise the new series (of any show) tends to be less of a treat, and more of a chore, to watch.
That said, I still think Martha is fantastic - I didn't think anyone would be able to replace Rose (even tho' I wasn't as impressed by her as 99% of the population seemed to be! ;D), but I really believe Martha has managed it. Freema Agyeman is beautiful, has great charisma, and she has made Martha a strong, feisty companion with genuine charm and humour, and a soft centre.

Jezziekins, nope. Nice to see her but it was hardly a major part and she got killed off pretty fast.
blackcatz, yes. I knew there was something else familair about it. There's also something else I can't put my finger on. In the 70s is used to begin every Jan and lasted 24 weeks. Course the eps were 25 mins long back then. LOL! I agree about Martha but we can do without her family. Had enough of that with Rose to the point of overkill. My fave companion's still Leela though.

Martha is a good addition and her family are OK. The father (a rubbish actor) wasn't in it thankfully. And there was hints at future episodes, with a strange man telling Martha's mother something about the Doctor.
But all in all the storyline was crap. Complete crap. Again we had a good idea - a machine which transformed Dr. Lazurus back to 30. A human issue, something everyone can understand. But as usual the execution was woeful.
We had the potential for a scary human character, but instead all we got was another CGI character (and a pretty bad one at that). Now CGI is good, but using it every week with the same sort of "creatures"each time is awful. I mean we've had the Macra, the Human Dalek and now the Lazurus Monster. RTD should learn the saying "less is more" is especially true with CGI monsters.
And we had another good opportunity with Thelma Barlow guesting as Lady Thaw - but she was killed off needlessly really. Oh, and then there was the whole thing in the cathedral as well. Basically after half and hour the storyline looked to be over, and was reaching a natural conclusion. But then we have this ten minute sequence tagged on - almost as an afterthought.
Overall 4/10 and I'm feeling generous at that. Please just please let it be better next time, with Michelle Collins guesting in "42" - a real time episode, set over 42 minutes.

Good grief! Are my eyes deceiving me? LOL!
Seriously, eithne, agree with everything you've said. No rating out yet with it being bank holiday. And it's not on next week for Eurovision. Still can't see why when that doesn't begin until 8pm. But will anyone be bothered?

I agree with eithne about the CGI stuff. It's over-used in DW, and it's not even particularly good quality, especially when you consider how Primeval has moved things on by leaps and bounds and shown how good CGI can be on TV.

I agree with you, blackcatz. And it always shows. That CGI monster was terrible on Saturday. One of the worst they've had but they rely too much on it rather than story.
They haven't got any ratings listed for Saturday. Grrr.
