You don't know to have watched any of the stories to work out what the link might be! That's an interesting idea Nick, but I'm afraid it's wrong!  Remember I said that it's possible to have had more than one story per doctor for this answer but that it didn't happen. It's not possible to have more than one 13th story per doctor, is it?!!! Not global warming or political correctness.
Don't think about the stories, who's in them, who directed them etc.
This is something completely random which could have applied to any seven DW stories but just happened to apply to the seven listed above & no others from the "Classic" series.
As I said earlier, it is also possible that there could have been more than one story per Doctor but, in this case, that didn't happen.
The answer is now more imporant than it wasa when the stories were first transmitted, perhaps the most important aspect now about any programme!
