LOL! I'd forgotten about Captain Peathingy, Nick. It's like that London football team or seaside resort up north. Hmm. Difficult having these banned words when they're included in others.
Bruno, well, I was very good at typing when I was at school, regularly getting A's for my work, though did cheat in my speed tests by doing it as quietly as I could as the teacher was talking before we had to start. LOL! I think I used to do about 200 words a minute then! She was very impressed. LOL!

I'm not too bad but made less mistakes on typewriters than keyboards, probably because the keys weren't so close together. Texts I'm getting the hang of. I only joined the revolution late last year. LOL! I do it in full words too. Don't know much text speak but I can understand you thankfully. Patsy |

Patsy I dont mind text talk but some people dont like it as on a forum you are not sending a quick text message so they have it in the rules not to do it in places like TV Forum and Digital Spy I think. I can type quite fast as most of my work is typing so ive sort of picked it up, I can type without looking at the keys, just the paper/or screen. |

Here in Canada-there does not seem to be much texting, so I sometimes have a problem understanding words. (I generally get the idea though.) I think in some places though-proper English should be used. Since this is the quiz section I will have to tell you my story. I made up a quiz for our Coronation Street group today. There were 20 questions-and they were quite easy. They had 3 prizes-the top person got 5 3/4 right, and the second got 2 1/2 right! They gave me the other prize. All I could do was laugh. When I gave the answers, it got people talking though and all of a sudden they started remembering things. Next time I will have to make it a lot easier. I am sure you lot would have got all 20 right no problem. |

I don't mind text speak as long as I can understand it as I said before. It does take a lot of work sometimes to work out what something means, especially when you're as thick as I am. LOL!
