I love the new titles, better than the current "Simpsons" look-a-like ones

Looks like some good stuff coming up. Some unfamiliar faces there, and was that Valda. ?? I would love to see her back.

Hate the music though. Looking good but we'll have to see.

New Neighbours is receiving a mauling Down Under. Saying they're copying H&A and if they want to watch that they will. They're hoping Neighbours will return.

They always copy each other just like the UK soaps - however Home and Away is the better of the 2 Oz soaps by far.

Yes i used to prefer Home and Away when I watched them (only by a short head though)

I read one comment saying Neighbours is Melbourne's H&A. They're also critical of the HD filming too.

What are the ratings like I wonder? Critics say bad things 9 times out of 10, just because it is easier to say bad things than good. But their views aren't the real test - the ratings are.

The first week averaged 959,000 viewers up quite a bit from the 2006 average of 820,000 and the 2007 episodes which got only 700,000. Also the network has commisioned the show to run until the end of 2010, so that is a good sign also.

There was a rumour I read Fremantle wanted to sell it there too to the highest bidder. Don't know if it was true but fans wanted to keep in on Network Ten.
Well hopefully it is an improvement. Have to see but I think when it goes to five I'll end up forgetting about it.

Here is a news story about the new Neighbours era:
More familiar faces are set to return to Neighbours in the coming months.
It has already been announced that Kym Valentine, Brett Tucker and Anthony Engelman will be back as Libby Kennedy, Daniel Fitzgerald and Stonefish Rebecchi respectively.
Now it seems Joan Sydney, who played Lyn's mum Valda, is also returning to Ramsay Street.
Later in the year, Libby will be joined by her boyfriend, Darren Stark (Todd MacDonald), and her son Ben - although the latter is to be played by Blake O'Leary, the third young actor to tackle the role.
From Excite
Most of this sounds really encouraging, and like they have thr right balance between bringing back old favourites as well as introducing new characters.

Yes he is sooty. As for Valda, I think she is a guest for a while. But Libby is back for good I think, after Susan falls ill.

I think it could be something serious, as Mal is also supposed to be returning (though I'm not sure if that is permanent). As Billy is now a star in the US I doubt he'll be returning. Nice that they mentioned Anne the other night though - giving birth to a baby!
