how old were you when your emigrated Deborah? I was 7 when I moved here, Alex. I have lived in Canada for 30 years now. I used to go back to England every other summer for about 8 weeks. Since I have been married, I have been back twice. (in 11 years). We are planning to go over again next summer. I have a lot of relatives and friends over there.

All this talk of how wonderful Canada and NZ is is making me jealous. I'm sure you'll get to go abroad at some point, Bruno. I went to South Africa for Christmas/New Year in 1975 visiting my dad's sister who'd emigrated a few years before. Then I didn't get another foreign trip until 20 years later when I went to the Czech Republic and Holland (not at the same time), Poland in 99 (saw Corrie dubbed there and it was very funny with one man saying everything) and in 2001 Spain (for a wedding) and Australia. Some people are far more travelled than I am even though that looks like a lot! LOL!
Nick, were you like me with Oz and didn't want to come back?

The flight would be a nightmare. I LOVE flying but hate them being so long. Even worse when you're running late as we were getting to Singapore. How can a plane arrive 2 hours late? Hardly stuck in traffic, is it? LOL! But Qantas were good and radioed ahead to keep the connecting flights there until we arrived. But as it was a month after 9/11 it freaked you out seeing the police pointing their guns at you! Luckily they stopped doing that by the time I came back 3 weeks later. It did make you feel as though you'd done something you shouldn't. LOL! One day, if you do a lot of of saving up, you'll manage to get over to NZ and make us all jealous. ;D

Not bad, especially when it costs £7.90 return just as far as Cardiff which is about 30 minutes, booking early and you always get it cheaper as they gurantee filling seats.

I know that feeling, Bruno. So many good intentions but so many things to buy! I hardly ever use trains mainly because it's too much hassle from Southampton with umpteen changes and whatever (and I hate the tube so would avoid London) but also the ridiculous prices. Coach for me. Takes longer but it's less hassle and cheaper. Though to the airport it's usually a taxi if arriving or departure times are rubbish for the coach and that costs a fortune!

Yeah, well I cant drive (obviously) and I know its embaressing but I get carsick and bussick, even an hour, so I have to get the train everywhere its the only opipion, but it still costs a fortune! The fares, keep going up, but people will continue pay them as they have no option and thats exactly whst ScotRail know!

I don't drive either. Did try learning when I was 17 but was a complete disaster so gave up. Haven't got the patience either to wait until I get things right. LOL! If they want more people on public transport they really should make it cheaper. The bus fares from here to town are a fortune!

Which part did you go to, JoDeirdre? I was in Perth and my friend took me too all sorts of places in WA. Juanta says it's only a 5 hour flight to NZ from Perth and has been often. Lucky cow!
I've never heard that before, Nick. I can't sleep when I travel. I had jeg lag and travel lag from all that driving around and lack of sleep all the while I was there and 2 weeks after I got home. Took ages for my brain to start working again. She loved it when I messed something up when staying with her. Good job I can laugh at myself! I did some ironing when she was working and sent her an email saying I hated her iron because it leaked everywhere. She thought that was funny when she checked her inbox.

I hated waiting for buses all the time. I prefer a train if im going long distance though as its easier.

Ooh, California, Alex. I'm jealous. I hope the weather was gorgeous while you were there. ;D
I know what you mean, Jez. But where I live a lot of places are in walking distance anyway. Being without a car is more of a hassle when hospitals and things are involved. Taxis are about £20-25 depsnding on which way you're going. We have a stupid boundary charge which is why it's so much. Getting back from the coach station though is about £19 pre-booked and £25 hailed! How stupid is that?
