I know this was a repeat, but I was watching it for first time on Sunday, and it just brought home to me how tired, contrived, and just plain dull Emm has become since those days.

OK, some of the acting was no better than we get now (and that's not saying much), but at least I could enjoy almost every episode - it was FUN, even when it was meant to be serious, and (gasp!) even essential viewing!

TBH I can't even remember when Emm was last 'essential viewing' for me, and that just about sums up the state of the show as it is now.

Agreed there, blackcatz. They're getting so desperate for viewers now they slap two eps together at the last minute while also dragging storylines on forever to the point it's an insomnia cure. Something's got to give and hopefully it's the ridiculous number of episodes.

I agree Blackcatz. The Tates were excellent, and Zoe Tate leaving was the turning point for me giving up watch Emmerdale. The Kings werent anywhere near as good and its on far too often at 6 a week. I havent watched Emmerdale for a year now (apart from the odd episode like Christmas Day) and I dont miss it at all.

Be good if she did but after this long I can't see it now unless the new producer makes her an offer she can't refuse.

Also you have to wonder if there is any good (logical) reason for her to return, unless it was to let Scott see Jean..... and Ben Freeman may well have screwed up that possibility anyway without even setting foot on the set.

Unfortunately the same goes for Kim - I can't see how the scrippos could explain why she'd want to come back.
