From Digital SpyCoronation Street actress Bev Callard, who plays landlady Liz McDonald in the soap, has hired her former on-screen son to run the pub she has bought in real life. Nick Cochrane, who appeared as Bev's son Andy on the show for nine years, has now taken on the role as manager at The Gallery pub-restaurant in Hale, Greater Manchester. Callard admitted that the customers have to take a step back when they walk in and see her and Nick together, especially when her former on-screen husband Charlie Lawson (Jim McDonald) and son Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) come in for a drink as well. She said: "People are completely taken aback when they see me and Nick together." Cochrane was working in the licensing trade and had kept in contact with Callard since he left the ITV1 programme and decided to pop in for a visit. Callard explained: "We’re great friends and have kept in touch over the years. "Then after I took over The Gallery he paid us a visit and said, ‘I wouldn’t mind working here’. "It seemed such an obvious decision and we haven’t looked back since." The actress' 18-year-old real-life son Josh also works behind the bar. Nothing like keeping it in the 'family' ;D

LOL! They must get on really well to do that. Wonder if she pays him? Isn't he meant to be a bit hard up?

Oh yes. What was the name of that again? Soap one, wasn't it? Patsy Not surprised. There are far too many tv related mags. I read this article in The Sun today.

They all had more or less the same in them.

TV mags are pretty much the same apart from the Radio Times which costs the earth.

Does anyone know if The Gallery has a website? I can't find one.

No but there seems to be two called The Gallery. One in the Novotel and one in the Grafton Hotel. Surely neither of those can be it.

I get All About Soap now but they have stopped doing subscriptions so I have to get it from the shops. I got it today at Tesco (the issue covering 1st-14th December) and ive got tokens to get 40p off per issue for the next 4 issues so I only pay £1 per issue. I sometimes get Soaplife as well.
Radio Times is £1 so hardly costs the earth! You get what you pay for I think as it has by far the best and most accurate listings e.g. it gives cast lists for all dramas/soaps of who is appearing in that particular episode, who is presenting the news/weather etc. Its only 7p more than TV Times. Most of the decent tv guides are about the same price - I think TV and Sat week is £1.05 an issue. I tend to stick with TV Times though as I like the soap guide.

£1 a week soon adds up with prices elsewhere rising. I wonder how many people struggling buy Hello or OK all the time?
There really is no point having half a dozen mags all featuring the same thing, be it TV guides, soap mags or z-list celebrity claptrap.

You could say that about anything. With the RT you are £1 but its better quality than the 40p TV Guides.
Hello and OK are £2 I think?

I know but for people to save money they'll opt for the cheaper ones. If the economy worldwide keeps going the way it is I'm sure a lot of these mags will fold.
Complete rip off no matter how many pages there are. I bought Hello once when they had a 7 page feature of Garbo after her death and the rest of the mag was pants.

I cant see the RT ever folding. It will be the cheaper mags if any that fold as there are far too many of them that are the same. TV Choice, Whats on TV, TV Easy are all more or less the same price and feature the same stuff. RT appeals to a totally different reader I think.
Never bought those 2 as they seem to be aimed more at women I think? Plus £2 is a rip off for a weekly magazine. Wouldnt be so bad for a monthly or even fortnightly mag.

Some of them are bound to fold as a lot of them have the same things on the covers. I cant believe they are still going on about this summers Big Brother.

Yep but unfortunately there must be enough people to buy these magazines so these so called celebs must be popular.
