It`s no secret here I`m his #1 fan and always have been  I was just wondering if Julian Roach a writer for Corrie in the 70`s/80`s is related to William. I know his son Linus (who is as gorgous as his Dad was) played young Peter years ago, I was just wondering if the Roach family had bigger ties to Corrie. |

Bill is RoachE and Julian is Roach...prob a coincidence  I must admit I like Ken and when he is given the scripts Bill Roache can deliver..I am looking forward to seeing how his novel storyline develops |

I was watching summat on DVD the other day (I forget what it was now)and Julian Roaches name popped up as a writer...that`s what got me thinking about the name.
Our niece and her hubbys last name is Roach too.
Wow Sooty, I didn`t know Linus will be in Law&Order....how proud his Dad must be. I can remember seeing him in 'On the Wings of a Dove' with Helene Bonham Carter years ago and thought how gorgous he was then.

I think I remember reading an article a few years back saying that he would like to have played more dramatic roles wqhen he was younger..but that he has no regrets about staying with the Street foir so long

Also he didnt see Daniel for the best part of a decade - hardly father of the year!

Also he didnt see Daniel for the best part of a decade - hardly father of the year! Peter is a single man who is still relatively young. To hoist the adorable Simon onto Ken and Blanche who are both well into their 70`s is selfish....especially as the poor kid just lost his mother and was going to lose his father too and dumped with Grandparents he had never met before. Father of the year Ken isn`t, but what Peter is doing is way more selfish that Ken ever was to his kids. At least Ken didn`t go boozing at every opportunity. re: Daniel. It`s not Kens fault that Denise couldn`t keep her knickers on. She slept with her brother in law (brian?) then dumped Daniel, then came back for Daniel when it was convenient for her. And by that time Ken had bonded with him only to have Daniel whipped away from him which is unforgivable in my book. And it`s not kens fault that Denise didn`t want Ken to get to know Daniel. He`s turned into a right sullen kid - Ken is better off without him in my opinion. Ken does try to do the right thing, but with the kids he`s got he`s fighting a losing battle. He was genuinely upset when he couldn`t look after the twins after Val died, and he was still grieving too. At least with the twins up in Scotland with Vals parents he knew they were being looked after properly. And as for Tracey....Ken and Deidre remortgaged their house to pay her legal fees just because Tracey demanded a fancy lawyer instead of the legal aid one. I hope Peter grows up and becomes a proper father to Simon. Hey if he doesn`t want Simon, I`ll gladly take him off his hands. ;D |

There are pictures in todays Mirror showing William Roache & Stephanie Beacham filming by the canal I feel that it is such a cop out that whenever they need a stroyline for a character and are stumped..they think of an affair...very old hat and hackneyed  |

Well David Nugent at Granada did keep saying years ago it was 'The surreal world of Weatherfield' which is Corrie-speak for we can do what the hell we like no matter how bollocks it is because the viewer will watch anything.
