As I said in the other thread this would have worked far better as a two hander (with Wiki and Maria appearing briefly as they did near the end). However overall it was excellent, I loved Carla really sticking the knife in telling Tony her true feelings for Liam, how she loved him far more, the love of her life etc.
Great acting by both Gray and Alison and if Ali doesnt win an acting award in the soapies this year it will be a farce.
I for one will be counting the days until Carla is back.

What I can't understand tho' is why she didn't go straight to the police, unless it's just to keep permanently Tony 'on edge' with the threat that she could go to them at any minute?

I reckon she just wants to make him sweat now, which will keep him on edge until she returns.
Plus, when the new bloke comes in, that will makehim more edgy.

Meanwhile a few months down the line viewers will be saying end it now because it's gone on too long, as usually happens when they drag things out longer than it's natural run.

I cant wait for Luke to arrive - he will certainly put Tony in his place I think!

I wish Bradley Walsh would come back permanently. He was such an excellent character and a perfect successor to the Baldwin empire.

Yes he was supposed to come back after taking a break from the show but never did. That was over 2 years ago.

Danny and Carla would be an excellent match don`t you think Jez?

Yes. They never met each other as Carla's first ep was Danny's last - however I think they would have made a good match!

If the only reason Bradley wants to come back if his other work projects dry up, I`d prefer it if he didn`t come back at all. He either commits 100% to Corrie because he loves his job or he doesn`t. I don`t want his time on Corrie to be a stop gap between jobs. And that goes for other actors in other soaps too.

I can't really see how they could write him back in now.
With the loss of the factory, and no family there, he has no connection any more on the street.

I suppose in all reality its only the factory that gives Carla a link to the Street (she has left Tony after all)..so if she sells her share in Underworld she wouldn't really have a reason to come back

I cant see Danny coming back.
And Carla wont be selling her shares - she brings Luke in to manage her share of the factory during her absence.

A friend of mine met her before she left and asked her if she was definately returning and she said she was so she will be back. She could quit after she returns tho but then most do after a few years these days.

There's a lot of women in all careers who intend to return to their job after having a baby then don't. A lot of men are happy giving up their jobs to look after baby too. She probably will go back but the mother love could be too great. No one can predict the future.

From The Sun:
Corrie's Alison King has baby
By CARA LEE
Published: Today
CORRIE actress Alison King has given birth to a baby girl earlier today.
The 35-year-old actress, who plays Carla Connor in the ITV soap, has not yet decided on a name for the tot, who weighed in at 6lbs 7oz.
A spokeswoman from the show said: “Mum and baby are doing well.
“Everyone at Coronation Street send Alison and her partner Adam Huckett their best wishes on the birth of their daughter.”

You really don't understand women's hormones. She's not going to know this second. It's after she's bonded properly.

Yes I do understand that Patsy - I was joking. You must think im an incredibly stupid person not to realise that she would need time to bond with her baby before deciding that. Im getting sick and tired of this.....

Then you should have made it clear it was a joke. After all, how many times in soaps have we seen someone is taking time off for whatever reason then don't come back after saying they will?

I would have thought it was obvious I was joking - and I never even said she would know "this second" as you put it. I said we will soon find out. You dont speak to anyone else on this board like that, only me, and im a member of staff.
