I believe today is 45 years for Coronation Street so congratulations. On TV here in NZ they interviewed Adam Rickett ex Nick Tilsley.
He moved to NZ about 2 years ago or more and is a major character in a soap opera over here Shortland Street. That has been running for 18 yrs.
He said when he started on the street everyone was kind to him. He said Gail ( Helen worth) was so kind and supportive and helpful.He did say there were a couple of horrible people but would not name them. He also said he learnt so much and enjoyed mixing with all the young cast.
Also he has received calls over the years asking if he would come back for a storyline. He said not yet ,he enjoys NZ too much.
But I note he didn't rule it out in the future.
