From DSCoronation Street star Antony Cotton has announced that he wants to launch his own comedy drama show. The 34-year-old actor confirmed that he is keen to keep experiencing new aspects of the television industry while he continues to play Sean Tully on the ITV1 soap. Speaking on This Morning, he explained: "This is now my sixth year in Corrie which has just flown, and I'm getting back into my writing and I'm in my fifth draft of my first script. "It's a comedy drama and that's something I'm working on so we'll see what happens." Cotton also revealed that he is enjoying life in Weatherfield and the antics of his character as much as ever. He commented: "I like the fact that my character is always unlucky in love, [it] makes it interesting to play. He sets his sights so high he's only ever going to fail so it means that he's always on the shelf. But that also means that he's always the optimist!" The soap star has previously branched out by hosting his own chatshow That Antony Cotton Show, which ran for one series on ITV1 in 2007. This will make everyones day. !!

The only trouble is they would probabaly give him time off to make it like they did with his chat show, so we'd still have to put up with him in Corrie.
