One thing which puzzles me reading the article is why no mention she won a competition to be here?

Yes its our Deborah! She has had a great time in Manchester and met several cast members including Keith Duffy, Simon Gregson and Jack P Shephard! I was going to go and meet her at the gates but unfortunately couldnt get time off work which was a shame.

2 things they got wrong in the article tho - she isnt 48! And also she doesnt camp outside the studios LOL!! Part of her prize was 6 nights in a hotel around the corner from the Granada Studios.
Deborah has become quite a celeb - im told she signed at least 2 autographs herself in Manchester this week lol!
Anyway im sure she will be on here to tell us all about it when she returns!

I returned home very early Sunday morning after 2 fabulous weeks in the UK. The week in Manchester was a week I will never forget.
During the week I met 26 of the actors, 15 were ones I'd not met before. I had photos and autographs with: Craig Charles (Lloyd) William Roache (Ken) Keith Duffy (Ciaran)-he was at our hotel Craig Gazey (Graeme) Patti Clare (Mary) Cherylee Houston (Izzy) Holly Quin-Ankrah (Cheryl) Vicky Entwistle (Janice) Vicky Binns (Molly) Steve Jackson (Trevor) Mikey North (Gary Windass) Steve Huison (Eddie Windass) Katy Cavanagh (Julie) Julia Haworth (Claire) Andrew Whyment (Kirk) Jennie McAlpine (Fiz) Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley) Jane Danson (Leanne) David Neilson (Roy) Jack P. Shepherd (David) Malcolm Hebden (Norris) Ben Price (Nick) Chris Gascoyne (Peter) Nigel Havers ( Lewis- no photo as he was in a rush) Simon Gregson (Steve) Tupele Dorgu (Kelly)
I also saw, but did not meet Natasha, Dev, Becky, Sean, Carla, Emily and Rita. We saw them walking Eccles as well.
Also met: Chris Bison (Vikram) Duncan Preston (Dennis Stokes) Joseph Gilgun (Jamie Armstrong) I met 16 other actors at Emmie - 19 in one day which I was pleased about!!
On St. Paddy's night, we were in a pub close to the studios and Eddie Windass was sat at the table right next to us. Andy Whyment's parents came to meet me too. We were in the same pub on the Saturday night and Joseph Gilgun (Eli) was in there.
Thursday we had our tour with 3 other winners and their guests. I couldn't believe one of the winners wasn't a Corrie fan, she is just one of those people that enters every possible contest. (she didn't even know Vera). Glad she bought a Corrie fan with her though. I saw a few sets I hadn't seen before: upstairs at the Rovers, Rita's front room and kitchen, Blanche's bedroom, Gail's new kitchen, Streetcars office, plus Tina and Ryan's flat.
They were filming Blanche's wake that afternoon. They had a long table in the Rovers and we saw them bringing trays of sandwiches out. There was also a sign on Roy's Rolls saying 'Closed due to unforseen circumstances.' Apparently Deirdre had filmed a scene in Blanche's bedroom going through her belongings and we were told there won't be a dry eye around! I took 161 photos on the tour, while Al snapped 76. I have a lot to sort out before posting them on my webpage.

When I was at the studios on the Wednesday, one of the papparazzi guys told me a reporter wanted to talk to me. I answered a few questions (none of which were mentioned in the article). Next morning I was at the studios for an hour before our tour and I had a number of phone calls to say I was in the Daily Mirror. There are a lot or errors and exaggerations, but it was still fun to be in there.
-I am not 48 -I do not camp out at the gates -I have not been over yearly for the past 15 years. (Since 94, I've been over in 2002, 2007, 2008 and 2010) I go over to visit my relatives, then have an odd day at the gates. -I was surprised they didn't mention my win and being Canada's # 1 fan as I think that was a bigger story
That night I paid to go online at the hotel and I was shocked I had quite a few messages from other magazines/papers that had seen the story. I also had a message from This Morning. It was quite overwhelming really. In the end I got back to Pick Me Up magazine and This Morning. I did an exclusive interview for the magazine and it will be out in 6 weeks time. They said it was a happy/feel good story. This time it will be my story and I've heard it read back to me, so there won't be any surprises. It ended up being too late for This Morning, but they told me next time I come over to get in touch.
I also ended up signing 3 autographs last week!!!
On the Wednesday morning we were standing at Corrie and an older man came to the gates asking what time the tour started. We told him they had closed. We got chatting and told him I'd won a contest and would be going around the next day. He asked me to sign an autograph for him - To Billy and family from Canada's # 1 Corrie fan. I signed it for him on a small piece of paper he found. He was very pleased and wondered if we'd ever meet again. (he was about 80). He then pointed up and said we would meet one day up there.
On the Thursday we were standing at the gates and 4 people arrived. They were on their way to see the Jeremy Kyle show. They left and a few minutes later they returned with a Daily Mirror. We asked to see it and he asked if it was me in there. A guy about 18 was very excited as he had read the paper on the train and had recognized me. He asked me to sign the article for him.
On the Saturday we were walking in Manchester and spotted a couple who had come to the gates two evenings. They went on to ask me for my autograph.
It was quite the holiday, one I will never forget!!

Just remembered another story: on the Friday I was at Emmie and Chris Chittel (Eric) arrived. I told him I was from Canada and met him a few years ago. He said 'Oh yes... was it you I heard them talking about on the Radio yesterday morning. I wondered if it was and when you were going to make your appearance here." Turns out they were talking about me on Radio 2.

Is she the new one who is in a wheelchair ?? Izzy is the new cast member in the wheelchair. She was very nice. I never got to hug Nigel Havers CG. He did sign my photo, but he was in a rush and said he didn't even have time to pose for a photo. I heard he is always in a rush. It wasn't till he'd gone that I realized he was on Brothers and Sisters, a show that I love. Our second week was quiet Patsy, which we needed. A few people thought we would have gone back to Manchester one day for sure but we didn't. Less than 2 weeks now and I will meet Katherine Kelly. Can't wait to finally meet her.

Oh to breathe in the same air as Nigel Havers would be something - huh Deb :-D
Will Izzy be Greames new love interest? From her pic she looks like a lot of fun. I can just see those two an item somehow.

We didn't find it too cool Stix. We had to wear a jacket, but it was March. I think we had 2 days of rain and one was a Saturday. Simon Gregson drove out the gates on the Monday night and Tuesday afternoon without stopping. On the Tuesday I don't kow whether he was mouthing something to me or if he was singing. I didn't think I was going to meet him. Then he finally stopped on the Wednesday. He was nice enought, but a lot quieter than most of the actors. There were a few of us there, so I didn't get to be with him for long. I've now added all my photos to my webpage. Al and I both snapped this year. Hopefully you'll feel like you are right on the tour with us. Enjoy. photosbydeborah.photos.cn.com/

I need to find a new place to put them Nick. Fotopic suspended me. There were too many people looking at them and I guess exceded the bandwidth I was allowed.
Anyone know any sites I can put them on?
