A number of things have been bugging me lately, things that I can't recall, or that were maybe never properly resolved. It could just be down to me not paying full attention, due to dwindling interest - or maybe it's just stuff that the writers have forgotten.
Q)Whatever happened to Gail's dad Ted?
He hasn't been in it for yonks, or even mentioned - despite one grandson's wedding and the other grandson nearly being crushed under a collapsed railway bridge. Gail has also apparently forgotten that Ted is gay, judging by her recent verbal abuse of Toddly and his partner, when they were up from London.
Q) Is Liz Macdonald still the landlady of The Rovers? And if so - why are they still trading in her absence?
I know Cindy Beale is on the horizon - but what about a licensee in the meantime? And when Liz recently nearly fell back into Jim's arms - was it ever mentioned that she is quite possibly still technically married to Vernon? Did she ever divorce him?
Q) The Peacocks house was badly damaged in the tram crash, but how has Claire 'wanted woman' Peacock managed to arrange its re-building, and subsequently put it on the housing market without drawing attention to herself?
If she is living in France with her family, and is conducting her affairs over the phone - she would still need a permanent address and a bank account in order to get things done. So - why aren't Interplod on her case? She was last seen fleeing justice, on the brink of being charged with attempting to murder Tracy Barlow. The cops could surely track her down via the insurance company or the bank, and drag her back to face justice, since she's wanted for quite a serious crime.
Q) Also - on the subject of the Peacock's house: would Cheryl be able to buy it if she's still married to Chris? Would a bank lend her money to buy a property with one man, while she's still legally married to another man?
As her legal husband, even if they're apart, Chris might still be entitled to an interest in her finances. So if she buys a place with Lloyd, and then Chris wants a divorce - is he entitled to a share of her assets, and claim a share in her house?
Q) Another house owning query - who now owns Jason and Tina's flat over the Kabin?
It too was damaged in the disaster - but Jason was living with his mum, and they were going to sell it. Is that where Tina is now living, on her own, while Graeme plays at being married to Xin?
Q) Who now works in Dev's kebab shop?
It used to be Amber's friend Minnie, but I don't remember what happened to her. Amber went off to Uni about 2 years ago, and has never even popped back for a visit, and the kebab shop is never mentioned.
Q) Whatever happened to the Ladrags business?
Liam set it up with Tom, but borrowed money off Carla - so she was in on it too. When Liam died Carla gave Maria her share of the business. Then what? Was the share worthless, or did Maria sell it for a profit? Did Tom continue on his own somewhere else?
Q) If Maria had sold her house to the Alahans, why then did she then cram herself into a tiny flat above Audrey's salon with Liam jnr and Kirk, and now Chris? Why didn't she buy herself a place with the proceeds of the sale?
Maybe these points were covered or explained at some point, and I missed it, but recently when I watch Corrie, apart from general dissatisfaction I find myself asking constant questions 'What happened to so and so...?' etc etc, and I find myself concentrating on daft loose ends!
Any answers gratefully received!!
