These sort of provoctive posts really wind me up. They are only posted to try and get people arguing IMHO. I'm sorry if I'm accusing you in the wrong, but I've seen two/three boards wrecked by people starting threads with the sole intention of starting an argument.
Rant over! Back to the topic...
I think that EE is like all soaps - it goes through good times and bad. That is why you have heard a lot of people giving out about it recently - because it has been going through a bad time.
As for the claim it copies every other soap... well all the soaps copy each other and have always done. There aren't exactly that many original stories are there? It is how the stories are changed and told which makes the difference.
And the majority of the great British public have not got fed up with the soaps as you claim - the reason ratings have fallen is that multi channel TV is commonplace now. It was only in its infancy ten years ago. Soaps had higher ratings because there was no choice. But Corrie, EE and Emmerdale are still in the top five highly rated shows week in and week out.
Sorry if I've went on a bit there, and apologise if I was wrong about this being a thread designed to provoke!

My usual response to tv programmes that are 'utter bloody garbage' is to turn it over, turn it off, read a book, play with my son, go out. If you hate something that much there's no obligation to watch it and stress yourself out.
