Last year I would`ve been gutted if I missed an EE episode. This year, there have been some days where I couldn`t be bothered to watch it...last Thursday for instance.

Yeah this year is worse, i'm much the same as corriegirl and would've hated to have missed an episode a year ago.
But it's well publisised that this has been a very bad year for EastEnders, their worst yet. I don'ty think it's gonna pick up until peggy and Phil come back to be honest, although, they're hoping Kat's return will bosst ratings back up.

It's bad news when a programme relies on the knuckle-dragging antics of the Mitchell brothers to keep it watchable. When they were in it the show was just a bad gangster programme, but without them it's even worse. It's been garbage for ages - bring back Nick Cotton!

EE needs new, interesting characters I feel - not "old favourites" who have had almost every storyline done to death.
Apparently the Mitchells will get involved in "farmleeee" fight with the Watts when they return. Original eh?
A new and diverse range on characters moving into Walford would liven things up. Jake and Danny Moon didn't really work at first, because they were based on the Mitchells. Johnny hasn't really worked because his storyline has been done to death in all the soaps before.
The Slaters worked because they were a new, original family - different from the Mitchells, the Watts, the Fowlers etc.
