Last Updated: Tuesday, 25 October 2005, 21:31 GMT 22:31 UK National TV Awards 2005 winners Doctor Who was the most successful show at this year's National Television Awards, with awards for most popular drama, actor and actress. ITV won six of the main awards in total, compared to the BBC's four and Channel 4's one prize.
The two special awards were shared between ITV and Channel 4.

The cast looked so, so shocked though. They really did not expect it. To be honest either Emmerdale or Coronation Street should have won. More than likely Emmerdale because all of the Zoe climax stuff was the best thing about all of the soaps this year.
It was brilliant because of the acting and the twists as well (Sadie stepping out of the plane was used as Emmy's clip the other night. Good choice although HF blowing up might have been better!).

I agree about Emmerdale. It's stayed consistent but rarely wins anything whereas Corrie and EE go up and down and always win. Makes you wonderwho actually votes for these awards.
