Well Louise Berridge is finally gone. Yes! So now Kathleen Hutchinson is here, and we already know some of what she's been doing.
- Kate Mitchell has been axed.
- As have Sasha and the Ferreria family.
- The new Moon brothers (Alfie's cousins) will arrive on New Year's Eve. One will be a bad boy.
- A familiar face will leave forever on Christmas Day (Maybe it's Kate?). We know this because someone who used to be famous makes a cameo as the taxi driver (on Christmas Day, yes!).
- A new gangland boss played by a former Bill star arrives in the New Year.
- KH has ordered all storylines from the beginning of December be totally rewritten and has axed LB's Christmas storylines. This has meant lots of reshoots for the cast members and they now only have twelve hours to learn scripts before filming.
So what do you all think so far?
From what I've seen, I'm not all that excited. The axing of the Ferraeria's is slightly unfair to the actors, as it was the writers and storyliners fault that they weren't working not the actors. As for Kate, well I actually really like her and thought she would have more storyline potential once Phil dies. But the whole Den storyline was really pathetic. The new Moon brothers don't sound that great either.
And as for the new gangland boss, well is Walford the meeting place for all the gangland bosses in all of Britain or something?

is already over!
Yes, she is gone after just three/four months in the job. Eastenders reached crisis point, because actors were coming in having learned scripts only to be told that the scripts had been binned.
So they had to learn lines again, and again. This meant working weekends. Also KH's had already axed or been around when more than ten of the characters left (Kate, the five Ferarrea's, Den, Andy, Paul, Sasha, Juley, Sharon, Vicki). It was also reported that she was possibly planning to axe some or all of the remaining Slaters too, which left other actors fearing for their jobs on the show.
John Yorke (head of drama at the BBC, former head of drama at C4 and a former EE exec) met with the cast on Monday. On Wednesday KH left the show's set, without even a goodbye.
Apparently production is so far behind Eastenders almost was taken off air for two weeks so that actors could catch up on scenes.
John Yorke is now replacing KH, taking the reigns of the show himself.
So what did you think of all that?
Personally there are very few characters on EE I really, really like at the moment. And the rest aren't really being used very well at all.

Louise Berridge's dreadful work started the show on its downward spiral and KH's made it worse and worse. She was hated by cast and crew quite a lot and her standard of episodes and dialect for the Soap were truly awful lol
When she took over i thought we might get some real gripping stuff yet to be honest it was in her reign that i stopped watching EVERY episode. I used to watch it every night religiously even if it clashed with something and it was in her reign i probably watched once or twice a week usually a monday and friday
Yet John Yorke is now temporarily the Exec Producer and its getting good again!
