I hope she has photos now. She didn't when I wrote a few years ago. Just got a card back saying, "Sorry Patricia I don't have photos". My friend got the same response but on the back of her original letter! LOL! I wonder what she'll say? I really do hope you did better than I did. She answered none of my questions about anything I asked her about.

She'll probably think I'm a sad lonely old bastard who has nothing better to do than hanker for the past instead of looking to the future ;D

LOL! I doubt that. I think she's one of those people who don't shun what they did in the past. She knows UpDown has a huge following and is often involved in things to do with it as she's proud of it. I'd really love to see her at a Dr Who convention since I expect UpDown, rather than DW, will get the most questions from the audience! It did for Simon Williams last year. LOL!

If you`re a sad bastard Nick, then you`re in perfect company because I am too. I`ve just started watching Up/Down again from series 1 onwards again. The other day I was enraged by James sniffing around Hazel so soon after Lady Margories tragic death on the Titanic, and I shouted at the tv screen...'you bastard James, you are a sorry excuse for a son" I didn`t realise how loud I was shouting, and my son who is 14 (also called James) came into my bedroom where I was watching U/D and asked "what did I do, and why did you call me a bad name"? awww I felt terrible afterwards. Pats...if ever you are lucky enough to meet Simon Williams again, you`re more than welcome to relay that story to him

LOl CorrieGirl! I'm sure he'd love that story.
I'm pissed off today. I taped that programme last night on a brand new tape and when I watched it today found the tape was faulty! Generally the picture jumped or rolled, very occasionally staying still. Grrr!!!! I hope they repeat these.

In the episode where James went into politics after the war, and was at the town hall where people were shouting at him had me entranced. Not because it was so interesting, but because in the scene where a man was shouting at James and I thought to myself "wow he sounds like Charlie Slater from EE". and sure enough at the end credits it was Derek Martin. I wouldn`t have recognised him as he was slim and a lot younger, but his voice was a dead giveaway ;D

lol I saw another error on U/D. I was watching the first eppy on the 1st DVD whilst doing some sewing the other day. Anyway, there`s a scene where Mrs. Bridges is chastising Emily for reading penny novels while she is supposed to be working. Yet in that tragic episode where Emily died, she got William her boyfriend to read to her in the tearoom as she couldn`t read.

i think the Penny novels in those days were like comics and were mostly pictures, because they knew lots of people couldn't read
Still no word back from Jean Marsh yet

I just got a DVD rental in my mail today from Netflix called The Bretts. Apparantly the 4 DVD set was created by playright Rosemary Ann Sisson who also did U/D. That`s the main reason why I rented this partiular DVD. Have watched 10 minutes or so of the DVD and am very impressed so far.....especially with the costumes, and the overall 1920`s feel of it. For some strange reason I keep expecting Angus Hudson to walk in the door lol ;D

I think I watched that when it was first on. Or am I thinking of something else? All blends into one as the years pass. LOL! Now I can't imagine why you imagine that about Hudson, CG. Patsy
