I enjoyed it, but too serious as you said Nick. LOL I didn`t work it out until I saw the end credits that it was Matthew Kelly playing the dance judge. I recognised his voice, but I just couldn`t place him - especially with that awful wig!!! ;D

MMM...I'm not enjoying this series as much...I'm not a radical campaigner for gay rights but I don't like all this talk of 'Queers' and 'Bumming'..it's childish, cheap humour....They wouldn't call a black man 'N****r' or a man from Pakistan a p**i' so why should they get away with calling a gay man 'Queer'
Makes me feel a bit uncomfortable

Looks like this is the season where Benidorm not only jumped the shark, but pole vaulted over it. I haven`t seen tonights yet, but this season really hasn`t been up to par of the previous 4. Using homophobic langauge to get laughs is a sign of desperation. I bet there will be loads of complaints about it.

I just saw it....and yes I see what you mean. The desperation really showed and I didn`t enjoy it. At times it seemed like a Carry On film, but way more cringeworthy. A real shame, it used to be very funny.

That episode was written by Steve Pemberton who plays Mick...after the brillaint writing he has done with the League Of Gentlemen and Psychoville to revert to this sort of sense of humour is very dissapointing

Yeah I saw that at the end Nick regarding Steve Pembertons writing. And I remember thinking that he should stick to his day job. There was scenes of really infantile behaviour of Liam with the hose pipe, or mean spirited adult homophobia. It made me feel quite uncomfortable at times. If Steve is the writer for next weeks Benidorm, I don`t think I`ll bother again.

A real shame, it used to be very funny. Not to mention Tim Healy as the ugliest tranny in the world; that ceased to be funny the first time we saw him, but they're really flogging it.

Has Steve Pemberton been on a diet because I thought he looked quite a bit slimmer.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is the final series.

I hope it`s the final series. If last nights episode was the best they could come up with, then they should have just left it at the 4th season with a Christmas special once a year. Such a shame.

I winced when I saw Steves name at the beginning, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn`t too bad considering. I did laugh though when Gavin threw Noreens cell phone off the balcony and she pulled out the phone charger from her bag.

Mind you the plothole there was if they were stuck on the balcony how could she recharge the phone anyway

I was thinking that too. Maybe there was an outlet on the balcony. The conversation Janice and Nick had on their sunbeds reminded me of a cross between Corrries Stan & Hilda Ogden and Jim/Barbara Royle from the Royle Family. Donald and Jacqueline Stewart will always be my fave characters in Benidorm - especially Donald. He cracks me up.

I love kenny Ireland he is brilliant as Donald I remember when he was in Victoria Woods 'Acorn Antiques' playing an actor who plays Derek the handyman. When they did a spoof documentary about the making of Acorn Antiques there is a bit where you hear Kenny's 'actor' character not realising he is in earshot of the camera saying in a very slow, camp Scottish drawl 'I said excuse me I was wearing leather shorts before George Formby had a ukelele' It always cracks me up www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSiTLJpP-EAit'sw at abou 5:29 minutes in..but watch the whole sketch it's great

The last one wasn`t too bad considering. Hubby watched them all over the weekend, and he said he liked it although it went a bit far with the gay characters at times making them look ridiculous. When he watched the last one and I heard him laughing, I knew it was because of Donald appearing at the midgets hotel room. And I was right. ;D

Yes - last one was an improvement - not too much smut.

I agree
The last one was written by original creator Derren Litten again,he also wrote the first episode..you can tell his writing from Steve Pembertons, Steve's tends to rely on more smutty jokes whereas Derren is a bit more creative with his writing

Benidorrn season 6 had me laughing a lot. Good to see Derren Little was the writer of this one. It was like meeting old friends in the first episode....I thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end credits I was suprised Ken Morley played Kenneths Uncle Berty,,,I never would have recognized him with that awful wig and huge teeth. He could have crimped pies with those choppers ;D ;D

Sherrie Hewson's 'face-lift' is just appalling. Why oh why do seemingly intelligent women think this sort of thing improves their appearance or makes them look any younger?

Welcome back Benidorm. I hope it continues to be as daft as the first episode.

I'm not so sure.. When Madge said 'Mel will be turning in his grave' ..I had to agree Jokes about sh***ing in a bath don't really do it for me...I'll give it another try next week From what I have read Noreen (Elsie Kelly) and posh bloke Martin (nicholas Burns) will be back later in the series
