Wow! A pretty good episode though although my Whodar tells me that Patsy didn't like it.
I thought all the emotional stuff was really, really good. It tied up the whole Mickey/Rose story pretty well. (I get the feeling that maybe he'll only appear as a flashback in the final episode).
Also I loved Margaret being back, and it was good to see that she got a happy ending returning being an egg. All the points she raised in her defence were very good - pointing out all the Doctor had killed for example.
Jack had a small part in this episode, but it was still good to see the two assistants. I have a fear that he may be killed off in either of the next two episodes though. He's just been brought in to teach us that the assistants don't last forever I think.
Hopefully I'll be proved wrong though.
Looking ahead to next weeks episode and the article I posted a while back was right it seems. Big Brother, The Weakest Link and What Not To Wear all to look forward to next week!

LOL Eithne! I'm full of surprises tonight because I DID enjoy it, apart from the Rose and Mickey padding. It started off pretty slow but with the humour it was enjoyable. Miles better than Aliens of London/World War Three. Though RTD does have an annoying habit of overusing things (like the zip foreheads last time and the teleport this).
Ooh, Jack. I'm getting to really enjoy him. More Jack - and topless please! ;D Rose was really surplus to requirements. But Mickey was just pointless. I hope there's no more of this in series 2. Just let them get on with travelling through time and space with NO relatives/boyfriends, turn the music down so we can hear the dialogue and NO 'Next Time' bit! But I suppose it's just a bit too much to ask.
All these games next week. Reminds me of Evil of the Daleks when Jamie had to complete all those tasks to rescue Victoria. Might be nothing like it though.

LOL Eithne! I'm full of surprises tonight because I DID enjoy it... ...Ooh, Jack. I'm getting to really enjoy him. More Jack - and topless please!... Wow! I am shocked and appalled by the second statement, no wait, both of them! I'm looking forward myself to the big reveal as to who the Bad Wolf is. (http://www.badwolf.org.uk) It has been mentioned in all of the stories so far (except episode 1 I think) so it has been built up very well. Also I have to admit the "next time" bit can be pretty misleading sometimes, but wow the 500,000 Daleks at the end of tonights episode was amazing. I take it those little orange balls of light have been causing trouble again! Roll on Episode 12.

LOL! Maybe the Bad Wolf is a mad Gallifreyan President who's hero was Borusa! I did notice that was drawn more attention to this time. I hadn't spotted a lot of the previous references.
I can't wait for the Daleks back. Maybe the Doctor alters the course of history and Gallifrey doesn't get blown up, leading the way for a Leela guest appearance maybe? Find out if she's still with that wet nelly Andred and WHY. LOL!

Can't wait for your thoughts, Nick. Those other boards my friend posts on and has been slagged off for saying such-and-such is crap have had posts saying they thought last night's was terrible and Aliens of London/World War Three were better! They clearly prefer effects to dialogue so are they fans at all of the original?? After all, we all know, due to lack of money, effects were limited and it was the story in those days at the forefront.

I didn't really like it, didn't really think it was as gripping as it could've been, in all i don't think it was good as it could've been. I was starting to think next week was going to be cac, but at least there's daleks (Pity we haven't had one alien world with funny aliens at least - and not a spacestation only with aliens).

Well folks here is my verdict......I'm afraid i didn't like it...I couldn't see the point of it all,the plot and script got silly in places.(did the TARDIS ever have to recharge in Cardiff before?).why didn't Margaret use the poisonous dart or breath earlier without telling him..??...IMO this series is going round in circles..we keep meeting up with the same characters and not going anywhere...I do like the addition of Jack though, and if he isn't a permanent assistant now,i think he should be considered for returning in the next series as a more permanent feature.....All in all i am getting a little disenchanted with the series...and I am not looking forward to the Big Brother one next week...but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it

Agreed, Nick. The Slitheen were rubbish before. This series hasn't really lived up to expectations. It's had more crap points than good. I hope the next is a VAST improvement. Good point about the Tardis recharging in Cardiff. After all, if it needed to (and I thought its power was infinite), there are other fault lines across the world to choose from.
So what have we had so far? 3 eps with them and 3 with Daleks, 2 on space stations above Earth, 2 in Cardiff. Give us quarries any day and more imagination! In the good old days of TV, the likes of Blakes 7 and even a 2-part Davison DW (50 mins as well) could tell a story better. And you never had this many reappearances of monsters since the 60s but the stories were longer as were the seasons.
Oh well. Dr Who Confidential will be worth watching at least on BBC3 and I hope I'm on it somewhere (even if they don't show Louise Jameson's coffee club withme sat next to her). My mum's enjoying thouse more than the series and was disappointed to learn when the series ends, so does that!

Good episode, but is it too much to ask that we could have the odd episode that isn't set in London ( or Cardiff for that matter ) Whats wrong with a far off planet.
