I see they'll be in the next series. Is this called Dr Who or Rose Tyler??

No, I don't. I would like to see Captain Jack in it more though.

Me too - especially topless! But he won't be for ages because RTD wants to have Rose and her rotten others face the regeneration and try and understand, while Jack would take it in his stride. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. As I said before, he overuses things. Patsy

It's getting totally ridiculous and RTD is, in my book, worse than JNT now!

I think they serve a purpose but I don't want them involved in any more episodes like the one with Rose's father. I'd rather see them in a background role, appearing in one or two episodes in the new series NOT six or seven.
When Rose and the Dr are really, really stuck they should turn up on Mickey and Jackie's doorstep I'd say.

He seems obsessed with them though. Oh well. One good thing. When Rose leaves the Tardis and providing series 2 isn't a disaster, no more Jackie and Mickey! ;D How many days till Christmas? Patsy

Dr. Who is becoming more & more soap like with the presence of Jackie & Mickey. Their presence is not needed & half the time doesn't add anything to the story. All that rubbish with the lorry in "Bad Wolf" was totally pointless & now we're going to get them in the Christmas Special & god know how many episodes in series 2...... Grrr......

I was thinking that while reading the latest part of the RTD interview in DWM, as well as the one with Rose's mum. Mickey's meant to be having more to do in the next series - ARGH!!!!!

Someone really needs to get RTD is a room & tell him that the show is about thew Doctor & companion(s) having adventures, not about the companion's mother & boyfriend being hangers on in a number of adventures.

He wouldn't care. He comes across as so arrogant in all his interviews. It's like Granada with their 'we'll do what the hell we like and sod you lot' mentality.

Yes, you're probably right. He's treating Dr. Who like any other show without having realised that science fiction, or at least DW, is different to other genres. If I wanted soapy elements in my sci-fi I'd watched Star Trek......

A friend of mine thinks fans who write books for it become tossers becuase they think they're proper writers. Having a fan who doesn't give two figs what other fans think and is basically making it for himself (he hates Gallifrey and Time Lords so got rid) is pretty much the same as Daran Little in charge of Corrie - a HUGE mistake!

Lol - exactly.
Just because RTD can write modern drama it doesn't mean he can write decent sci-fi. People seem to be too afraid to say that.

He also has that annoying habit of hiring people he's worked with before. The amount of backside-licking letters in DWM makes me sick and they say that's the majority! Thank goodness for Celestial Toyroom not sucking up.

Thank goodness for Celestial Toyroom not sucking up. Patsy I seem to have opinions that go against the trend here but nevertheless I will air them. I support all that RTD has done insofar as it has got a NEW generation of kids watching the show, I don't have children but enough of my friends do and their littluns love the show and are now always begging to borrow my old Who eg the videos and DVDs.. I agree with RTD in having the contrast between London home and strange new worlds all the time in his season one as it really highlights the differences that are forthcoming. I am sure that the Time Lords will return one day though - they'd better!! And I hope that Terrance Dicks and Eric Saward will get a chance to submit stories in the new regime!! Yes Jack was good! Have you seen his (John Barrowman's) official website yet? Check it out!! The Dickens story imho was one of the best, it so inspired me that I've bought a biography of Dickens and a short story anthology of his and am reading them slowly.. SS
