I know! The resembelance was amazing! I was shocked.
A goodish episode I thought, but Clare and her trams annoyed me a little. It is all going on too long. Tedious is the only word.
The book club was again brilliant - "Grinding Hard". And I loved all the different conversations going on around the one table. It was really, really funny. Poor Roy was being ignored! Hopefully the book club will continue for a while longer as it is giving us some classic Blanche lines.
And "I didn't buy a card in here, so that you wouldn't see how much it cost" was funny as well.
As for the Katy story, well it is building up. A bit dull with that, but not too bad.
And did we actually see the Rovers at all tonight?

I'm sure Blanche had that line about the card before. Reet's 70th? She'd said something about cards before anyway. I also liked that bit about Reet having less birthdays than her because she's older. Isn't Blanche great? A latter day Ena Sharples! ;D
Claire was just like Deirdre. I was amazed.
Don't think we did see the Rovers. But tonight I enjoyed the usually boring Harrises.

I must be ill or something but I actually turned off tonight's episode because I was so so bored with it. Rita's birthday party finished it for me they were trying to be too funny with all the conversations and trying to shut up Roy. There was just too many conversations going on at once and boy did they go on. They had a scene full of some of the best characters in the series but Rita's moment was lost with Roy's wittering and Blanche pretending senality and all talking at once. It went on for at least 30 seconds too long. The best person in what I saw of that scene was Anne Kirkbride. With one look she has me in stitches.
In between all of it you had whining Claire and I so hate her. She just opens her mouth and I feel all depressed the character is so dull. And what was that all about with Ashley and Fred taking exception to Claire's glasses. It seemed so out of character.
The only bits that were any good were the Harris family which surprises me I'm saything this because I have never liked Katy Harris and she has been top of my axe list for years now. However at the moment she is the best one in it.
Oh and then there was Sarah. See it all before her with her boyfriends. Does anyone really care anymore?
If this is Coronation Street for the next year come back Kate Ford all is forgiven, at least her character is interesting even if you have to use your imagination to interpret what her grins are supposed to mean.

I agree about last night's being great, Nick. It was the first one I'd enjoyed in weeks.

LOL! Who wouldn't? Anything to shut up his ramblings.
In last night's, who was Ashley's terrible impersonation of? The subtitles said James Bond (I have them up because sometimes you can't heard what's said or the dog barks but Oracle's were accurate) but I thought it may have been Rigsby.

Yes Claire's new glasses do resemble Deirdre's old pair! LOL
I thought the episode of Rita's birthday was very good too - especially the book group meeting!
