Why does Claire suddenly want to be a bus/tram driver when she is a fully trained Nanny who loves kids..and has never mentioned this bus business before !!

Living with a husband and a father in law who smell of blood and sawdust would drive a girl to anything.

LOL! I certainly wouldn't want to get on any bus she drives. It's the transplant fairy at work again.

The script writers must be suffering from brain drain at the moment. The tram driver storyline just doesn't make any sense at all. Why isn't Claire minding Joshua. Surely, he can't be in a creche all day.

Oh it's so silly. Maybe Reet's traumatising Josh again - I mean, looking after him again. Well she's always absent so she's must be up to something other that down the vodka and count her squillions. I'm surprised she hasn't said she wants to be a heavyweight boxer all her life or something just as daft. Only a matter of time the way things are going.

Yea! I know i mean if that was the case then y did she train 2 b a nanny?! And surely she would mk more money being a nanny than a bus driver!

Good point, Bruno. If she's always dreamed of driving a tram, that's what she'd have done.

I agree, if that was her dream, I am sure she would have gone with it. I thought it was strange too that all of a sudden we found out that Dev was really into trams. (I am sure I read that in the updates). I think Claire should go into the corner shop to talk to Dev, take her glasses off for a second, then Dev 'accidenly' puts a box on top of them. Oh wait a sec, that's been done before! ;D (oh well, they often copy storylines)

LOL! good idea, Deborah. But maybe on people's heads instead so they get back to normal. Yep, that's right about Dev the tram spotter. Always knew there was something strange about him. Mind you, I love cruise ships and liners so what do I know, eh? ;D Patsy

LOL. Wot really confuses me tho is that if Claire had an eyesight problem y didnt she get glasses previously? I mean they must hv picked the problem up b4 surely! I mean she sd she was short sighted, as am I and ive wore glasses since I was 2! I mean cum on!

Good point, Bruno. I didn't need glasses until I was 11 but that was for reading and watching TV. I was far too vain to wear them until about 16 when I was fed up not being able to see what was on shelves so started wearing them all the time. LOL! Claire would have known something was wrong with her sight ages before, even if it was before going for the interview. She got a quick appointment too, didn't she? I never do. A week or two or three. Can't remember since I haven't had them checked since before going to Australia in 2001! Naughty me. LOL!

LOL. Yea i kno! Bt wot puzzled me the most was the fact that she came bk wi the glasses usually u pick the frames then they send the thing away and say they will fone u when they r ready and that takes roughly a week!

That's very true, Bruno. I remember in 1998 my old plastic frames just snapped in half. Couldn't see a thing less than a foot away clearly and my dad was my guide to the opticians. Even couldn't see the bus until it was in front of me. LOL! I got the spare pair made up on the spot because the woman felt sorry for me. But the others took a week, as did the current lot. My dad's take longer I think because his are bi-focals. The place I use had a small lab so some can be done in an hour but mostly they aren't. It depends if they have the lenses and things. More of this artisitic licence stuff we're supposed to know nothing about to spot the errors.

They say you should write about what you know. But with so many things being wrong, it makes me wonder how thick the writers are. And what about the script editor? It's their job to iron out the mistakes but they don't.

Well, sort of. They don't discuss what's on telly or in the news. It seems to have gone more towards real life since 1997 than before.

fair do's to Brookside..I remember Bev saying once 'You can turn the telly over Corrie is on in a bit' or something like that'
and after someone caught her with her hair in rollers she said 'Oh my God,I'm stood here looking like Hilda Ogden'

LOL! Slightly more realistic than others in dialogue but not OTT stuff. The only kids show anyone ever watching in Liverpool from 1982 was The Magic Rabbit. LOL! Didn't they also mentioned a soap, Meadowcroft Park (Brookie's original name)?
