You should try and catch up on the earlier series Jez - it's been brilliant from Day One.

I thought Danny Miller fitted in well, nice to see him play a character so different from Aaron in Emmerdale.

hmm..I have to say I was a bit dissapointed with the final episode.....would the police have really let them drive all the way to the cliff edge knowing where they were going without intervening?

Tremendous final two episodes - we watched them on consecutive nights.
I see that the penultimate one was written by Amelia Bullmore ('Gill Murray').
Hopefully more to come?

Well, the new series hasn't disappointed so far.
This show is just SO well written - it's fascinating stuff even when they're all just sitting round a table and voicing theories.
Brilliant acting from everyone, and will be sorry to see Amelia Bullmore go - she's been such an important person in this,
both as an actress and as a writer.

Brilliant acting from everyone, and will be sorry to see Amelia Bullmore go Is she definitely going or is this a SL where she changes her mind. I was sorry to see Danny go (although as he is now in Emmerdale I don't suppose he could do both) I have a feeling that Rachael won't cope in the Sgt's job. It's a terrific series and it just gets better and better.

I agree Sooty..I just love it....I think it is the most realistic of the UK cop shows that are on ... it knocks Broadchurch with it's moody lighting in the cop shop into a cocked hat

Yep - continues to be the highlight of the week for us.
TBH it doesn't even matter too much about the storyline - it's the interaction of the main characters that makes it so watchable.
Just brilliant, and makes a nice change to find something WE like getting critical acclaim too!

I think the writer Sally Wainwright is brilliant. She has also been responsible for Last Tango in Halifax, At Home with the Braithwaites, Happy Valley, Unforgiven and Playing the Field to name a few. Plus she has written for Corrie, and Emmerdale in the past. If ever I see her name on something that is coming on I know we are in for a real treat.

Mind you the thought of the 2 girls 'creating' the series makes me laugh 'I know let's make a cop show about 2 female detectives..one's a single woman who is a bit of a mess and the other has a family .. then the single one can be promoted to sergeant creating a bit of tension between the two for a while' 'Oh you mean a bit like a remake of Cagney and Lacey but set in Manchester?' 'Yes thats the one' 'Consider it commissioned' lol
