Anyone else been watching this?
Three 2-parters (run on Sundays and Mondays) based on three novels by Kate Atkinson.
Part private detective thrillers, part (very) black comedy, set in and around Edinburgh.
I've read all the books (they're brilliant), and BBC have transferred them really well to TV.
Jason Isaacs as private detective Jackson Brodie, and Amanda Abbington (Doc Martin's receptionist Pauline totally unrecognizable!) as DI Louise Munroe.
Lots of other people I've seen before; last night Keith Allen played a really obnoxious stand-up comedian appearing at the Edinburgh Festival, who met a pretty gruesome end!
Well-worth catching on IPlayer, if you like quirky, dark, funny stuff!

This is a terrific drama and I hope it gets a second series.
I was sorry little Marley went to NZ, she was a very funny little character.

Yes, that was heart-breaking.
Unfortunately I can't see another series, as Kate Atkinson has, so far, only written one other novel ('Started early, took my dog') featuring some of the same characters, unless they can persuade her to simply write some scripts, which I think unlikely, considering her popularity.

Just watched the last two-parter, based on the novel 'When Will There Be Good News?'.
Possibly the best of the lot, and the series as a whole has to be in contention for outstanding drama series of last few years.
Just brilliant, and very cleverly adapted.
As a postscript, was wrong about Amanda Abbington; she was in Doc Martin, but didn't play Pauline! Ooops!

I'm intrigued about this Sooty - where did you hear/read about a new series?
...just wondering which books they will get the stories from?

I'm not sure if his daughter is in it this time. Sad if she isn't, she added a bit of comedy to it.

Brilliant series again - watched first two; last one this Sunday. ...and lots of screentime for little Millie Innes, who plays Marlee so well, in last Sunday's episode. Also love the use of country/folk/rock music - seems totally out of place, but actually works really well.

I agree BC, great viewing. Good to see little Marley back...I have to ask myself who the adult is between her and Jackson ;D Sorry the dog is no longer in it, he and Marley would have been a good duo.

Excellent final episode!
Really thought Jackson & Louise were finally going to get together.
He's pretty hopeless when it comes to the personal stuff!
Another first-rate series.
