Yep they quote a couple of tweets and claim everyone was bored. LOL! The most I read on FB said they hated the ending.

It wasn't THAT boring: there was a birth, a death, Thomas got a kicking and Mrs Patmore nearly got her legover! What more did they want??Not bad for one episode!

Xmas Special 2014. What a pleasant surprise - possibly the best overall episode we've seen for a long time. Definitely seems to work much better in a one-off two hour special than in the normal one hour per week. Generally very good reviews too. Very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this. I think it was the most enjoyable Christmas episode they have made. It was real feel good telly.

I also loved Downton Abbey Christmas special. Although it wasn`t really a surprise to see Bates at the end of the episode. I was rather expecting it. I`m surprised Cora didn`t buy Robert a puppy for Christmas to help him get over the death of Isis. If she had bought him a puppy, I wonder what Robert would have named him/her? Al Qaeda, or Boca Horom perhaps?
