I hope to watch this show tonight. Apparently this show was due to air in November, but it clashed with 'The Paradise' on BBC1, so ITV decided to postpone it til January.

Were going to watch this, but changed our minds when we heard how similar it was to The Paradise (which we liked).

Strangely enough Paul, I`ve seen an ep of 'The Paradise' - and liked it very much. I haven`t got around to watching the rest of it yet.I did watch 'Mr Selfridge' tonight and I really loved it. The 2 shows are similar in its content, but out of the two shows - 'Mr Selfridge has a more flamboyant style to it. 'The Paradise' what I saw it was a bit difficult to follow at first. I think that`s why I never got around to watching the rest of it. I think you`ll be pleasantly surprised by 'Mr Selfridge' - I know I was.

I watched it and really enjoyed it.
It is similar to The Paradise which was great, but if they air them with enough time between them it's ok.

I also watched it and thought it was slightly better than the Paradise.I liked seeing Katherine Kelly who played Becky in corrie playing Lady Mae Loxley.

They aired the first episode of this in America this past Sunday in the same time slot that had been Downton Abbey, and I enjoyed it well enough. It was fun to see Becky in dark hair over a hundred years ago... she must've stumbled into that Tardis.

LOL it was weird to see 'Becky' as lady Mae wasn`t it. It was a great series...I enjoyed it immensity - as did my hubby. I hope there`s a season two.

Piers Morgan was interviewing the actor who plays Mr. Selfridge last night, mostly about accents. He has a way of smiling that seems very forced and yet not offensively so which suits a Chicago department store magnate. They talked about how the real Selfridge charmed U.K. shoppers and changed shopping from an almost disreputable exercise (for those with that money stuff which wasn't to be mentioned in polite company).

Season 2 started Sunday night, and I enjoyed it as much as the first season. So the Edwardian era had their own version of Jackie Collins then ;D

I enjoyed this, even though I keep expecting the odd character from 'The Paradise' to appear ;D

I am loving season 2 so far. It`s very rare for me to like a second season of something, but this season is equally if not better than the 1st season and I`m really enjoying it. I have a feeling Lord Loxley is going to somehow get those contracts in making boots for the military for himself and try to con Harry Selfridge out of any of the profits. He`s a cad and a bounder - and a great villian.

Definitely a lot of hissing and booing going on as we watch it. I am glad this series they are going more on character led stories and less of the 'celebrity type of character' they had in series one.
