New series starts this week - Tuesday, BBC1 21:00. Drama series about a lottery-winning syndicate. Again written by Kay Mellor, but this time revolving around a group of hospital workers, rather than a follow-up to the first series which featured workmates in a small supermarket. We enjoyed the first series - it was a novel, ensemble drama, with separate, but interwoven storylines, along the lines of Clocking Off and Cutting It (two of my past favourites).

We loved Clocking Off too Nick. I liked the 1st series of the Syndicate. Glad to see it`s in a different setting for series 2.

Not a bad start to the new series - another fine cast. Although I couldn't help but think the ticket-hunting was padding/time wasting: lottery tickets can be bought online these days, and it's unlikely that anyone would trust the scattiest member of the syndicate to buy a ticket and keep it safe. Most syndicates,I'm sure, aren't that slapdash.
Poor Helen - but tough; she left. Why did she leave and then still expect a share of the winnings? And they're not 'her' numbers - they're just numbers that popped up randomly in a draw.
Now Mandy is rich I hope she can escape the nasty husband - but hopefully not by going to the nick, when he works out she's been drugging him!
