The Macdonalds in the Rovers isn't working for me - I can't out my finger on it, but it just doesn't look or feel right. Steve Macdonald looks out of place behind the bar when he is lurking about trying to look like he's in charge, but he just doesn't BELONG there IMO.
And as for Vernon.... is Liz actually PAYING this parasite to live there free of charge and drink the profits just so she doesn't have an enpty bed?

Hmmm Yes, you do have to wonder whether Vernon is actually in posession of a monstrous schlong with which he can send a woman such as Liz (who has, in the words of Dame Edna, "drives and juices" ) into paroxysms of ecstasy.

I agree Pearly. Would have been far better if it had been Liz on her own. She is landlady material and I am happy she has finally got her own pub (last time I believe was the Queens in 1993!) However Steve does look out of place, and as for Vermin well why the hell the brought him back I will never know.

I agree with the stuff about Vernon, I hate him, but I am enjoying the Liz and Steve stuff. I think they work well together and he just needs a bit of traning up behind the bar.

When they bought the Rovers it was on the understanding that Liz ran the place , and Steve was a sleeping partner who had another business, Streetcars, to run as well.
Because of the presence of a certain Michelle behind the bar Steve is always in the Rovers mooning around after her - and he just looks clumsily plonked in there, so he can eventually be unhappy in love, yet again.

I think they manages to get a bank loan, and they had to give up the flat above the Kabin too.

You mean Steve was living with Reet in secret all that time and Norris and Blanche never even knew? Patsy
