Reports: Corrie stars are "in love"

Coronation Street stars Bradley Walsh and Debra Stephenson have confessed to an off-screen affair, according to various reports today.

The pair, best known for their roles as Danny and Frankie Baldwin on the soap, are struggling to save their respective marriages after Debra's husband James found intimate messages on her mobile phone.

"James found a string of text messages and basically discovered that his wife was in love with someone else," a close friend told the News of the World. "He soon realised their relationship had been going on for quite a while and he confronted her. It was a very heated night for them, and it became very emotional.

"The next day his wife left him a letter, which told the truth about her feelings. It broke his heart, and made him very angry. James is absolutely devastated that his wife has done this. It's clear that their marriage is in serious trouble. Bradley even left a message on his answerphone trying to apologise. But James just feels very betrayed and is in pieces."

Sources claim that the Street stars fell in love while filming for the show, although they both insist that they did not have sex.

"They became very close on set and started to develop feelings for each other," an insider explained. "One of the reasons they both wanted to leave the Street was to get away from each other, put a bit of distance between them and be with their families. They thought they were getting too close."

Debra has been married to James for seven years and is currently four-and-a-half months pregnant with their second child.

They dont seem to have any proof its the truth, apart from an alledged text message and phone call which we have if it really took place.

If there was the call and text then the 'friend' must be someone really close to them.

I hope that so called friend are pleased with themselves for blabbing to the press.
The thing is...when 2 excellent actors such as Debra and Bradley are rehearsing, their acting probaby gets so emotional that they just can`t help it that their feelings spill over into their personal lives. Especially as they are also friends in real life too. And with a lot of emotional scenes with their onscreen break up, they must have spent a lot of time together on and off the screen at the studios. Especially as both Bradley and Deb seems such perfectionists when it comes to acting anyway.
I`m not excusing what they did...it was wrong. And they are both very apologetic and remorseful. It`s a shame that both their partners are devestated too. I really don`t know if their marriages can survive such a public scandal. Only time will tell I suppose.

Happens a lot though, doesn't it? People act together, spend a lot of time together, they either fall in love or just go for wild sex.

At the end of the say it isnt really anyone else's business what they do. It might be wrong to cheat on someone but we dont know for sure if anything has gone on yet! The press are just trying to make something out of this and whether its true or not its not as if its something new.

Problem is 9 times out of 10 the press are usually right. It's possible this could be the one time they aren't but whereas it could easily have died down over the past few days, both Debra and Bradley keep it there with their constant denials. Well, as they say, they would say that. They've even got King of PR Spin Max Clifford representing them. And when he's involved in anything it's usually damage limitation.
