Funnily enough I was chatting with my twin sis earlier and I mentioned Sinbad to her. She also believes I am thinking of the wrong person. The Sinbad I remember from Brookie was very similar in looks to Craig Charles from Corrie. And this bloke definitely had a beard, a small goatee if I recall. This was around 1987/88/89 and Sinbad was friends with Terry Sullivan with a very strong and distinctive Liverpudlian accent. This darkish skinned man wore a bandana on his head I think. One of his pals was Jimmy Corkhill I believe. This Sinbad was always on the cadge - that`s something I do remember distinctly Can someone please refresh this tired old brain please. Its been 18-20 years since I saw Brookie last, and there really isn`t a helpful website where I can go through character pics to take a look.

Definitely sounds like Mick Johnson, or the other coloured guy (can't remember the character's name) who joined later, and worked in the fast-food joint. Played by Paul Barber - he was also in The Full Monty, and played Denzil in Only Fools and Horses.

I reckon this is the guy you're thinking of: www.brooksidesoapbox.co.uk/page18.htmDefinitely not Sinbad - who was a window cleaner and definitely always on the cadge, but with a heart of gold.

Thank you so much BC and Billy. Yes it was Mick I`m sure of it now. You were both brilliant in working out who it was from my vague description. In 1989 I worked a lot of overtime ....16 hour days plus weekends so I never got to watch the omnibus on Brookie Saturdays very often. Have a well deserved K each as my way of saying thanks. ;D

I really like Jerry's character. He seems to be a great dad.

Yes - brief scenes last night, but we gained some useful insight into their setup. I already like Jerry, and can see him staying around for some time.

Jodie, to me, seems like she would be better suited to running a market stall in Eastenders - can't say why, maybe it's the way she looks and behaves! She is on the rough side, I must say. Physically she reminds me a little bit of a cross between Wallace (of Gromit fame) and Michaela Strachan.

The Platts and the Peacocks could do worse for neighbours - the previous occupants, for a start.
Jerry might be a bit noisy, but his heart's in the right place, and he cares about his kids - unlike Gail who didn't notice when her daughter was having underage sex and getting knocked up, and her son was sending disturbing greetings cards after she had casually married a murderer who tried to do them all in.
I'd rather have the Mortons as neighbours than the Platts.

In one thing I read they were described as the Battersby-Mortons.

The Battersby's would give their eye teeth to MARRY INTO the Mortons.

I've not really watched Corrie for ages, well since Mike Baldwin left. However I did watch Tracy's trial and I have to say that I think the Mortons are a breath of fresh air. The best family in years - they certainly beat the Harrises and the Connors. These Mortons could be the Corrie's answer to the Dingles with more of them crawling out of the wood work.

Well im not a huge fan of the Mortons im afraid, although i did enjoy some of the party scenes on Wednesday's episode but that was more Gail, Sal and Claire getting drunk.
I love the Connors though - they are a breath of fresh air IMO.

Yeah the twins both look older than 18 IMO, especially the girl. No idea how old the oldest daughter is supposed to be. Dont really like her.

Well, when Jody first appeared, I didn't like her attitude towards Jason - I am not a fan of Jason, I just did not like her attitude, but I like the family now. Reserved judgment at first, But I now like them, though I have to agree with the initial question of who Jody was meant to be. I wasn't sure when she appeared, then wondered if she was Jerry's wife, when a picture of all of them appeared. You cannot help how old you look or your appearance for your age, but I don't think she looks like Jerry's daughter, well not at first. I like them all, though I love Jerry - Michael Starke. It just annoys me how writers immediately want to pair them off with someone, ie Jerry and Eileen.
