According to the Daily Star on Sunday yesterday to be replaced possibly by Phil Collinson of Dr Who. Rumours of many axings including Norris and Emily. What no Reet? I said when it was announced Steve had the job I'd give him two years. It really is a poisoned chalice when no one wants to stay. Patsy

I'd say start with axing a couple of eps a week then get rid of the really pointless characters whose only storylines are sex, sex and more sex.

Producers only usually stay 2 years these days - gone are the days when they would stay 10+ years like Bill Podmore.
Since 1997 we have had;
Brian Park, David Hanson, Jane Macnaught, Kieran Roberts, Tony Wood and Steve Frost - 6 produers in the space of a decade.
I wouldnt mind if they got rid of Emily to be honest *dodges bullets* lol. Norris either for that matter. As long as they dont sack Reet - we'd have to protest outside Quay Street Studios not that she would be grateful or anything!

Here's the article from DS:
Current Coronation Street producer Steve Frost is sticking with Corrie for a while yet - rubbishing weekend reports suggesting Doctor Who producer Phil Collinson is being lined up as his replacement.
A Corrie source told me: "Steve's not been with us for two years until the end of the year so we've definitely not started seeing anybody to replace him!"
They added: "And as for a cast cull - how ridiculous. We really don't know where that came from."
------------------------------------
So Steve stays - our hero!

Must admit, Corrie has gotten boring now and again. I`ll reserve judgement about Phil when I see the first epsiode with his name in the credits.

Nah. They always deny things that turn out to be true. He'll be gone at the end of the year that means when his contract's up. We also know Kieran pulls the strings after that interview he gave a while ago so being producer is just a name with little control over decisions.
