I don't think Eileen ever has either from what I've heard. But Barbara DID. She had a hectic schedule during the Alan Bradley storyline yet answered every single one personally, including a short note. Absolutely no excuses now. Well the NTA was before she went Garbo as up until 2004 her last appearance was 1999. She only went to the soapies at all because of those awards (still should have got Best Actress and would if people today weren't so shallow and voted talent over who they fancy). She hasn't been when there's nothing in it for her. My mum says I should forget about Barbara and start admiring someone else. I told her you can't just stop being a fan of someone after nearly 19 years! LOL! I still think she's a great actress. I just hate the way she treats the public these days when she used to be so nice. As you know I've met loads of actors and actresses at conventions and the vast majority put Barbara to shame.
I'll take your word for that. So have you changed your opinion of his show now?

I remember her 1999 one - the This Morning special. She was good in that. I still have that interview on video. LOL! I dont think you will ever stop being a Barbara fan - me neither!
Well it depends on who the guests are - I was lucky that it was someone from Corrie and a good interview. Other shows could have been crap with a poor guest list.

No I won't. Realistically if you're going to go off someone it's within the first couple of years. I've had a few like that during my teens. Can't stand them now. But my favourites I have stuck with a looooooooooong time, of which Yootha Joyce was the first (1979) and Barbara was the last (1988).
Yep when she came face to face with Andy Williams. I still like that suit she wore. That wouldn't have been cheap. She always looked better as herself rather than Reet.

Remember how star struck she was! And the way she was jigging about during his performance! Just see the show - im on it at the start when he is singing The Beetles "Twist and Shout" - the singing was awful but everyone was standing up and clapping. lol

I know. Arrogance, you think, when at the end when Richard said whatever it was to him at the end (can't remember what it was now) and she said, "And me"?
Is that your only appearance?

One of these days I will actually get round to 1) watching the 2006 soapies, 2) putting Barbara's stuff onto DVD and 3) getting round to doing the Alan & Reet stuff for you. I can't remember the last time I even got the tapes out. I shall look closely tomorrow. Patsy

No I haven't. And I STILL have that huge pile of DVDs dating back to when I was in Oz to catch up on too. Every time I plan to something crops up. No. I have to do some Yootha Joyce for an Aussie fellow fan and promised that this month. Guess who hasn't done a second of it? Patsy

After watching the show I notice they cut the bit where they said Barb is a very private person. But they kept in the bit where Antony asked Malcolm what his and Barb's off screen relationship is like and he said "Its private". Then Antony moved on.
They cut out loads of both interviews, Malcolm talked about Soapstar Superchef but none of that was kept in. They kept the bit about his cats though which was good. He also corrected Antony when he said he has been in Corrie for 13 years, but said in actual fact he only came back as a regular character 7 years ago - actually I think it will be 8 years in November? Im glad they got the Maths right!

LOL I was close then! I remember Norris dressed up as something during the Millennium celebrations when Reet sang "on the street where you live" and I knew he hadnt been in it long then.

Oh yes. Ken was Sherlock Holmes I remember. Tyrone was a spaceman. Spider and Toyah were Adam & Eve. Reet went as herself - the Living Dead.
Oh yes. Barbara's mid-Atlantic drawl. I had to explain to Amy what mid-Atlantic was because she'd never heard the term. LOL!

Its the side opposite to where the sofa is where he speaks to the guests (the left hand side when looking at it on tv) last but one row from the back, 3rd seat in.

I taped tonights show and watched bits of it between the 2 Corrie episodes - he had Denise Welsh and Jennie McAlpine on the show as guests today. He does like his Corrie friends on there doesnt he! Not that im complaining. Denise's interview was good.

Yes but then it's Granada and they obviously think, like This Morning, they need all the plugging they can get. LOL!

Natalie left in 2001, Nick, so quite a few years before Sean arrived. However Denise's husband Tim played Sean's dad in Corrie and that was mentioned.

Yes but then it's Granada and they obviously think, like This Morning, they need all the plugging they can get. LOL! Patsy Plus as the show is made in Manchester its easier for them to appear as guests on this show as its in the same studios as Corrie is made, rather than go to London for GMTV, This Morning, Loose Women etc etc.

Yeah. Gits.
I remember Denise Welch saying years ago the live ep was the last she'd filmed so her exit had already been done.

So she completed filming on 8th December 2000 then. However Natalie was on screen a bit longer, into 2001 I think.
