Just heard on GMTV that Corrie were winners at last nights TV Quick/TV Choice awards picking up 4 awards including Best Soap ;D , while EE got just 1.
The awards Corrie got were
Best Soap
Best Actress -Sue Cleaver
Best Newcomer - Kym Ryder
Best Storyline - Tracy kills Charlie
I know a lot of people will be happy about Sue getting Best Actress at last.

Have already said how pleased I am about Sue Cleaver elsewhere, but also chuffed that Kym Ryder got Best Newcomer - I think she's been a great addition to he cast, and far better than I expected her to be.

Not a huge fan of Sue Cleaver myself but its nice she won as well.

Good that corrie's doing well yes, but these mag TV soap awards are all a joke IMO.

I totally agree, Peter. Lane and I were discussing this while we were away. The TV Times Top Ten Awards at least put soap stars up against others in categories and was respected. Now there's this mag awards, that mag awards. There's too many awards these days as well.

Overkill - these actors are overexposed on telly 10 times a week as it is, with out all the backslapping and insincere speeches of awards ceremonies.

And it's usually the SAME people nominated time and time again which also makes them more meaningless.
