Corrie are certainly doing well with awards this year, although as ive said before the Inside Soap awards are meaningless to me.
Im more interested in next months National TV Awards.

I can`t believe AC won best actor. This is a huge slap in the face to all the other actors in soaps who work really hard to get some type of recognition and deserve it a whole lot more than AC.
I`m more convinced than ever that these awards are fixed.

Me neither. But then it doesn't help when you get the same names put forward year in, year out. They were better in the old days before there was an explosion and soap actors had to compete with others.

They never have been. Neither have the TV Quick/Choice awards. Thats why I dont think these awards are as meaningful as others which are televised.

The Soap Awards are just an ego trip, pat on the back for the industry a la the British Comedy Awards. Stick the nominees up against real talent like it used to be and they'll get a nasty shock.

LOL! I still think it was ridiculous he was nominated for actor 6 months after joining when he hadn't done anything.

Wow I was just over on DS, and the comments about AC`s acceptance speech is about 8 pages long so far. I never realised how many people hated him.
I didn`t know that AC had such a foul mouth either.

Really? More anti comments on Teletext about him today.
I heard he is apparently (and this was told to a friend of mine by an Emmerdale cast member) rude to the Em cast at awards dos and also he's meant to act such a diva on the Corrie set.

Pride cometh before a fall and I hope he gets axed by both Corrie and his chat show.
I even prefer Janice (actor and actress) to AC and that`s really saying something!!!
After watching his foul mouthed rant about Todd and the people over at DS, he doesn`t deserve that award.
He really is a spiteful and nasty piece of work and the sooner he`s gone the better.

I was just reading it and agree with them. He never deserved the award anyway because 10 he can't act and 2) Sean has STILL done bog all. It pisses me off when these top brass keep putting the same names forward. We had KF year in, year out and now him. They're all the bloody same and nominees are predictable.

From yesterday's Mirror which I thought you'd find amusing:
Another week, another soap awards ceremony where Antony Cotton gets a gong for Best Actor. Talk about Emperor's New Clothes-tastic!
If you've seen Antony's chat show (ie are his mum) or caught him being interviewed on someone else's, you'll know it's impossible to see any difference between Antony and his Corrie character (his Corriacter) Sean.
Mainly because there aren't any - Antony and Sean are exactly the same person. He's simply playing himself, just like he did in Queer As Folk.
Antony wins millions of awards for acting when he isn't doing any acting, let alone actual good acting. What next: Schmeichel the dog wins a Bafta for most convincing portrayal of a canine? The Rovers bar scoops and Oscar for pretending to be a piece of wood people lean on as they drink? Sheesh!
