Though Blanche is clearly still knocking around the Street and giving anyone and everyone the edge of her acid tongue, Ken & Deirdre seem to have been posted missing for months. Where the dickens are they? On an extended stopover visit to Tracy the killer in the clink? The neck-string clinic for a full overhaul?
The worrying thing is that when you notice and stop to think - the show's been no worse off, and quite possibly considerably better without them.

deirdres last appearance was at jack and vera's 50th wedding anniversary..that was ages ago..Ken hasn't been seen for about 2 months...he wasnt in it for 3 weeks before we went on holiday (1st Sept) he wasnt in it when we were away and he hasn't appeared since

Far too many eps of Boreen yes.
According to IMDB Ken's last episode was the end of June! And Deirdre has only done one since the end of June as well, as Nick quite rightly said Jack and Vera's anniversary episode which was shown the week i was in Manchester.

its a strange do that Blanche had done more than younger whippersnappers like Kirk,Maria and Kevin The whippersnappers tend to be in longer scenes which I assume need more rehearsal time, more time in makeup, filming etc. Blanche tends to have one or two vitriolic lines in a shop and then leaves. Overall I reckon she does less work even if she figures in more eps. |

LOL! Yes. I'm still curious about that. Although they did send her and the peasant to Budapest last year when she should have gone cruising for a new bank account. Course there's no guarantee she'll actually appear again for another month so could still have the time off. LOL!

We'll see. 70 at a push. Despite the facelift she's still an unwell woman. She may try and kid herself now she looks 20 years younger she's not an old woman but we're not fooled. So will she be in it Sunday when I'm away? This is where I need Lane's Internet phone to be warned. LOL!

Has anyone ever noticed with Ken Barlow that he looks younger than what he actually is now. Yet years ago when Corrie first started in 1960, he looked a lot older than his character who was 20 or 21.

Another facelift? They're rife! Pat Phoenix started a bad trend there. I'm glad Bill has at least stopped dying his hair. Wrinkly old people look daft with their hair the same colour as their youth - or worse. Not so bad if you have youthful genes without resorting to nips and tucks. Patsy |
