This is a new series starting on Wednesday on Channel 4.

From what I have read, it seems to be as popular and addictive as 'Desperate Housewives'

We are around half way through the series over here in Ireland - and it is very addictive. It is a bit unrealistic in that the men don't need to shave that much, and that most of the characters seem to be very good looking, and that they just happen to have a few survival experts on the plane - but apart from that it is brilliant.

Not as good as Desperate Housewives - and not something you can discuss as much either but try it and you will be pleastantly surprised.

Well, the pilot episode has just been on, and I am instantly hooked.
It looks as if no expense has been spared in making it.
Has a bit of a Twin Peaks feel about it.

Yes that doctor, Jack, in particular is very good looking, and seems to be the hero at the moment.

When that bloke got sucked up into that engine, I nearly leapt out of my chair.

And wasn't it amazing that all the luggage remained intact. ;D

Seemingly it got 6 million viewers, the highest ratings ever, for a first episode of a new US series.

tbh, It wasn't as good as all the hype and praise I'd heard for it but I'll stick with it for a few episodes.
It made me jump too Sootycat, when one of the passengers got sucked into the engine.
Do we know what was up in the air after the "monster" got the pilot, when it cut to a break? I didn't understand that bit.

It has been getting a lot of negative comments from people in real life situations like that. Would all the luggage really be intact? Would the women all just happen to have an endless supply of make up with them? And the same for the men and their shaving gear (in 12 episodes time, after around a month on the island they have very little stubble at all!!!)?

Well I still misswed the repeat I am afraid, but I have heard the critics talk about it, so I don't know. Like i said on the other thread 'Get lost Lost' it has been advertised that much it should be as good as they reckon? I do know the member who started the other thread was not impressed at all.

The last episode of the first series aired over here on RTE2 on Monday night, and I can reveal that it doesn't really live up to expectations at all. There was a medium sized twist, but not a big massive one. In fact the twist is pretty repetitive of another one used midway during the first series. But one good thing did come out of it.

About half way through the series I was browsing the Internet and came across an article about Lost. At the end it had a bit about an acteress who would be in season 2. It revealed a big, big spoiler for the final episode which thankfully didn't happen!

The other day I went on the C4 Lost website and got spoiled completely by accident (something about Claire).
I don't have a clue what episode we're up to but I've got more into it now and really want to know all the answers to the mysteries!

The Season finale is very frustrating but if you've been hooked the whole way through you'll love it.

I am really trying to avoid spoilers but even an interview with one of the actors hinted at something that might happen later on in the series.
For the past few weeks I haven't been in to watch Lost at all but hopefully by next week I'll be caught up.

Watched that episode yesterday. I knew Charlie wasn't going to die as he's in the next series but for a minute I really did think he was dead! It was very sad.
And Deborah I might need to ask Al for help. I'm sure I've missed a couple of episodes in the series.
