Having seen the first 10 or so episodes in the new series of Lost I can tell you that it is far, far better this year than the first series.
The first 3/4 episodes are painfully slow with the revelation of what is down the hatch being revealed in a painfully slow fashion. And then we have half an episode which recaps a lot of the previous weeks episode repeated.
But after this intial rubbish it soon improves with new characters adding a much needed boost into the show. Then there is an absolutly shocking moment when a character you would never expect to be killed off is accidentally killed.
Details on the first few episodes follow.

I thought this weeks episode was great.
And now we know that there were more survivors from another part of the plane.
Good new characters I think, and it will open up more plotlines. Still confuses the hell out of me though. ;D

I have to say that I was relieved when the survivors all met for the first time - as it took so long for Ana-Lucia and her gang to cross the island. It seemed like forever! What did you think of the other 48 days sooty?
Just a little bit gruesome weren't they, with all the kidnappings? That is the mystery I most want found out - where are the kidnapped ones? We do get a little bit of an explanation for that when Clare starts having flashbacks.
I can tell you that there will be a lot (and I mean A LOT!!!) of sexual tension between one of the new gang and Jack, and a lot of dislike between her and Kate! It all gets very entertaining.
Also watch out for Henry Gale - another new character. Is he all he says he is?

It took the Ana-Lucia character so long to reach our screens that the actress has had two spells inside for drink driving before we knew who she was. ;D ;D Actually I like her character ( Except when she hit Sawyer ) I can see her clashing with Kate. I thought it was good how they did the 48 day thing. A good way to explain what went on ( Sort of ) My husband has given up watching it now, but I'm still gripped by it.

Yep, I really liked the Other 48 days episode. It is getting increasingly frustrating though - every new episode there are 2/3 new mysteries that never get solved and aren't refferred to again.
Watch out for Hurley's flashback episode in a few weeks. It gives a damn good explanation of what the island really could be. And there is a pretty good twist at the end involving Livvy and Hurley - on the edge of a cliff.
