Here are a few stories I've found on the new digital channel Five US - dedicated to US TV shows.
EDINBURGH -- Five's two new digital channels will launch in October, the broadcaster confirmed today.
First off the block will be Five US - a channel dedicated to showing US fare such as CSI and new acquisitions Shark and Vanished - on Sunday, October 15.
Female-skewing lifestyle channel Five Life will follow on Monday, October 16.
Programmes in the Five Life schedule include Aussie drama Life My Way, popular US talker The Ellen DeGeneres Show and spinoff series Supermodel Extra. The channel will also feature an expanded Milkshake! strand for preschoolers and premiere episodes of Home & Away ahead of Five.
Five US will broadcast daily between 4pm and 1am, while Five Life will air between 6am and 11pm.

Five has won the rights to two of the most anticipated dramas from the upcoming season in the US.
The first is legal drama Shark, starring James Woods as a top celebrity defence lawyer who decides to switch sides and become a prosecutor. The series is being handed the prestigious post-CSI slot on CBS from September.
Meanwhile, Five beat off Channel 4 to the rights for Vanished, about the search for a senator's missing wife. On the cast are John Allen Nelson (24) and Rebecca Gayheart (Nip/Tuck).
"I am delighted to have secured the rights to both these highly sought-after series and believe they are a fabulous addition to Five's raft of already successful acquired dramas," said Vanessa Brookman, Five's new controller of acquisitions.
Five has the free television and digital terrestrial rights to both shows, while UKTV has picked up the basic pay rights to Shark.

Stand-up comedian Russell Kane has been named as "the face" of Five's new digital channel Five US.
Kane will head out on the road to film segments for the channel - including interviews with programme-makers and behind-the-scenes reports from Five US shows such as Conviction, Vanished, Shark and CSI.
"He will undertake a voyage to discover America afresh and illuminate what makes its people tick," said Nol Davis, head of Five's creative services. "This breakout from the normal confines of continuity will allow Five US viewers to travel with us on a genuine road trip across the USA.”
Five Us launches on Sunday, October 15.

I like the sound of the Five US channel. Shark sounds as if it might be good.
One I am looking forward to is starting on Five next week is ... Criminal Minds, about a team of FBI profilers.

I quite like the sound of Vanished - though I'm not too sure if Shark is my cup of tea. The Practice is the only US legal show that I've been really mad about.

Well Five US starts tommorow. They are showing Conviction, a new 13 part legal drama, at 10pm. Might give this one a try.

It sounds good. They are running CSI: from the beginning again. I never saw the first series, so I shall watch that.

Shark is brilliant. I`ve been a huge huge fan of James Woods anyway for the past 25 years - and he`s superb in this.

Shark is on the same time as ER here, so I watch Shark and tape ER...or watch or tape the west coast feed at 1am. Thursdays are my favourite night for telly anyway. What with Survivor, My Name is Earl, Shark and ER, its the best 3 1/2 hours of the week ;D

I watched Conviction tonight which I taped from Monday. It was good, will watch again next week. It was excellent, wasn't it. A bit like La Law 2006, on speed. ;D ;D Pity they only made one series. I notice one of the characters from Law And Order was in it.

I'm not sure if it has started yet. I haven't seen it in the listings. At the moment I seem to be watching wall to wall CSI ;D ;D
