I enjoyed the last episode of Charmed, though I have to say, I think it should have been just that, the last episode, as they ‘closed it up nicely’, I thought. At the time of completing the series, the question mark was over the show whether it would be commissioned or not for another year, hence the ‘death’ of the girls I think.
As to the episode itself, I thought it was rather nostalgic, with certain people (or animals) like the fairy returning, as they had done in previous series when Pru was in it. And lines between Phoebe and Piper referring to ‘Quake’ Piper’s old club, before P3 was born.

My dad watches this. I've only ever seen the odd one like when Juanita stayed with me in 2003 and with me staying here. But he wasn't at all impressed with that last series so would agree with you, Sharon, about it should have been the last. The main problem with American shows is they have too many eps and they last way too long so they get desperate and boring.

The main problem with American shows is they have too many eps and they last way too long so they get desperate and boring. Patsy I love Charmed, I think it is watchable and not childish as it has the grown ups in it, and not neccessarily far fetched either. When Paige entered after Prue died, I was unsure of whether it would survive as there was not the same 'chemistry' between the girls, I know they 'were' best friends off screen too, till an argument ensued between Shannen(prue) and I believe Aliyssa (Phoebe) though this was apparently not the reason for Shannen's departure. However, this last series, I think Paige has grown up some, but judging from what I have read, they were unsure of whether the channel Warner would budget another series hense, they tied it up with what we saw. Also, it is through the lack of budget that they are getting rid of Leo and Darryl, so how is that going to be explained? (See my spoilers)I don't also think they used their powers enough, when that is what the show is all about. However, I enjoyed the last episode, though I think they should have called it a day with that, as it is going to be starnge to see how the girls 'suddenly' reappear after 5 episodes, which is why they got these new id's in the first place. They may have some explaining to do with 'why' that all happened and if the stars are that tired, why don't they just bring on the 'spin off' but why not just use Wyatt and Chris instead of this 'Billie'. As to your comment regarding the Americans lasting to long in their shows and getting boring, not necessarily, as if they have good enough material they should keep the audience. But I do feel they perhaps should have left it as it is. Ask you Dad what he thinks to my comment - when you see him, as I reckon you are still away?

I think they handled the introduction of Paige very well. I really have enjoyed Charmed but I really think series 7 should of been the last. I've missed most of the current series (8) currently airing on Living but what I've seen I haven't been all that impressed. And who is the new girl in it?
Series 7 definately should of been the last IMO.

Yes, I think they handled the introduction of Paige well, especially since we knew that Patty (The girls Mum) had an affair with Sam, her whitelighter, so it didn’t come as a surprise that they had a ‘love’ child.
I have not seen the whole series (some I reckon I have missed) but I have always enjoyed the series, as it wasn’t aimed at ‘kids’ and it was good to see the magic. As previously said though, I think the chemistry has altered since the departure of Prue (Shannen) it did not see the same with Rose (Paige).
Also the this latest series seem to lack the magic which is what the show is about. I think the ending could have been different, so that the girls could have still been witches and do good, though make the ending different somewhat, or maybe the Angel of Destiny could have given them the choice of giving it all up again. Either way, I don’t think the inclusion of Billie is going to be the answer, and with them not knowing whether the show would be recommisioned, I think they should have gone with the intention of it being the last.
As for you question Lane, asking who the new girl is (Even though I am sure you will have found out now with my ‘Spoilers’ bit in this section) She is called Billie and is played by Kaley Cuoco. They brought her in to be a witch to give the other girls a ‘break’. It has also been suggested that she will be in the spin off of Charmed, if there is one. Personally, I think if there is to be a spin off, surely it would be more appropriate to be with Wyatt and Chris, the sons of a Charmed one, not just anyone?

OMG! I love Charmed - I watch it everyday! The current series is great and I am loving every minute of it. I don't think I will ever stop watching it. Do you know if Series 8 is the very last episode? I sure will miss it if it is! Do you wish Prue was still in it? I wish she stayed, but then Paige wouldn't be in it and I like her too. What do you think of Billie aswell?

What do you think of Billie aswell? You obviously have Living TV?! I think the series has lost it’s way abit, although I think Paige has ‘grown up’ a lot this series. Yes, series 8 is the last, as the series as been cancelled now, although I think when the girls changed their Id’s in the last episode, that should have been the finale. It has also been said that Alyssa is only contracted for 8 series so that will be it for her, and Rose has commented that after series 8, she is looking to move on also. Yes, I will miss it also, but it MO it has done it’s time now. I think we need to remember it as it is or was instead of it be ruined by carrying on and not being up to it’s usual standard. I have said before that it is not the same since Prue left, and although Paige has ‘matured’ since she first appeared in the show, I still think it was a lot better when Prue was in it. The chemistry between the girls was there and the magic was always used, whereas at times it is not always used in the episodes, and that is what Charmed is al about. As for your question, what do I think of Billie? Do I REALLY have to answer that? LOL! I don’t see the point of her at all. The girls are all we need and they are the Charmed ones, so why have they brought her in? It is to give the other girls a break, so I would say that is another reason to finish Charmed off. I saw the last episode of Charmed where Brian (Leo) was leaving and saw Billie, and from what I saw, I stand by what I said about her, about her not being needed. She hardly did anything, and I never saw her use her powers, which I am presuming she has. Untill I have seen more than one episode of her in, I guess I cannot pass judgement on her, though I feel that I may still feel the same.

I'm obcessed with charmed and quite like season 8, although i am glad that this season is going to be the last because i want it to end a good show and not as rubbish. The new character Billie, played by kaley Cuoco, is a great addition and i think a spin-off revolving around her character would be good even though she has said she wont.

A mini series about Wyatt and Chris could be good. Billie's okay but I don't think she is needed. My opinion of series 8 hasn't much changed since I

I agree with you Lane on this, I don't know why they brought Billie in at all, I have seen one episode of her in it, when Leo was frozen, and I cannot understand why they have brought her into it. That is not Charmed. The three girls are, and if they are too tired to carry on, then they should axe the series, or if they intend to carry on a spin off, then they should do it with Wyatt and Chris, as they are 'Charmed' offsprings.
I still think they should have 'finished' the show off at the end of series 8 was it, when the girls assumed new identities.
Anyway, I will have some more Charmed news and Spoilers for you later - watch this thread!
