CSI:NY
The Newest Spin off from The CSI Series. Already 2 CSI shows on our screen, one the original and the other the first spin off, so did we really need another one, which is set in a different part of America yet again?
The first one, CSI:Crime Scene Investigation is set in Las Vegas, headed by Gil Grisssom. It was so different from anything else we had seen on Tv before, for once it was showing us the Forensic side to police work not just the police work itself. It soon became a massive hit not only in the States but here in England too, hence the introduction of the very first spin off, CSI:Miami, headed this time by the delightful David Caruso. This one was different in the sense that Grissom was classed as a ‘Science nerd’ whereas Horatio Caine, played by David, was a Lieutenant and was completely different from his Las Vegas counterpart. Different characters in the Miami show had their own personalties too.
Then it was announced there was too be yet another spin off, this time set in New York and thus to be entitled CSI:NY. Headed this time by the gorgeous Det. ‘Mac Taylor’, it is different from the other two. Whereas Horatio is a Lt in Miami, Mac is a Detective, and is played by the equally gorgeous Gary Sinise, who also has his own team with again, their own character personalties. It is still only in it’s third episode of a brand new 1st series, so it has to establish itself just as Miami had to when it hit our screens, along with it’s teething problems, until it had finally made itself in it’s own right, and got the ‘ingredients’ right.
So I say let’s give it a chance and prove itself to what I believe is going to be another massive hit.
