Has anybody watched this.?

The first episode started last week.

It's about Dexter Morgan, a Miami Metro Police Department blood spatter analyst, who has a double life.
When he's not helping the Homicide division solve murders, he spends his time hunting and killing bad guys who slip through the justice system.

It sounds a terrific concept, a serial killer who only goes after the bad guys.
I am not sure about the high gore content though, but people reckon it's worth watching.

ITV Wales dont appear to be showing it Wednesday and are opting out of network to show local programmes so we only get the repeat at 11.40pm on a Tuesday. I taped it last night and watched this morning. I really enjoyed it despite the blood and gore but that is kept to a minimum to be honest (going by the first episode). It is something different, just wish it got a better slot.

I will definately be watching or taping on ITV West tonight since Wales arent showing it as they show it the more reasonable time of 10.35pm.

I watched the 2nd episode and enjoyed it so will probabaly stick with it. Its a shame ITV have given this great series such a rubbish slot at 10.35pm though (11.40pm in Wales) whilst rubbish like Rock Rivals gets a 9pm slot.

Anyone still watching Dexter? I watched episode 3 last night and im still enjoying it. Its nice to see something different from the usual american imports. Hope it does well in the ratings over here but stuck at such a crap time on ITV I doubt it.

I have really got into it now.
He is a very quirky character, but wouldn't everyone like to know there is an 'avenger' righting wrongs.

I like the back story of how he got like he is, and the ice trucker storyline.

I don't like his sisters female boss though.
Why do they put such good stuff on so late ( although there is the odd stomach churning moment in it ;D )
There are two good progs on BBC1 that get the late treatment too.......Damages and Medium.

I love all the flashbacks which explain why he is like he is.

I think its the content which means it has to be shown post 10pm? Not sure they could show it as 9pm without cutting certain scenes.

I watch it on ITV West on ITV Wales only show the Tuesday repeat the following week due to local programmes and thats at 11.40pm!

Have you watched The Fixer on ITV ?
From the sound of it, it seems like an imitation of Dexter.

I have. It was also really good. Basically this guy has been released from prison after only serving 5 years of a double life sentence for murder (he killed his aunt and uncle as they were abusive towards his sister) so he has now been released on condition he joined this team of people. Really good viewing IMO and it did well in the ratings.

ITV have some great drama's (both imported and home grown) when they really try, its just a shame we also have the likes Rock Rivals in the schedules too.

Another excellent episode of Dexter this week. Im glad he didnt kill the neighbours dog that was annoying his girlfriend and instead they found the dog a new home where it would be loved.

I see he could also not put off getting intimate with his girlfriend any longer either LOL!

Or her getting intimate with him . ;D

I also like the way he stopped himself from killing that ( released from jail ) lad...........after finding out the reason the lad felt no remorsed for killing someone.

Life is going to be difficult this week, it's on at the same time as Desperate Housewives.

I liked that too - even though he can be a ruthless killer he is fair too!

Yes it is a pain, I suppose I will have to tape Dexter or wait for the repeat the following Tuesday.

I think ive worked it out - watch Dexter and catch up with DH on my virgin media 4oD at a later date.

Also Sooty I think you said you dont have Virgin Media? I think you can catch DH again on E4 at the weekend if you want to watch Dexter too.

I shall record the second half of DH, watch Dexter, then watch the second half of DH. ;D ;D

So that bloke they arrested wasn't the ice road trucker.
I didn't think he was.

But I was shocked to see who it was, it's getting a bit too close for Dexter now.
I keep hoping maybe Rita's husband will get on his 'to do' list.

Im still watching but a week behind as I tape the repeat on Tuesday night ,as it clashes with DH on a Wednesday.

I have just seen up to that bloke being arrested.

I watched the final episode last week. What a twist that the ice truck killer turned out to be Dexter's brother!

Definately the best new series from the US this year! I cant wait for series 2. I wish they would give it a better time slot though - its been on as late as midnight in Wales.

I think this has to be one of America's best imports.
It had me gripped from start to finish.
The shocks came thick and fast.

I just hope ITV pick up the next series.
